The safety is zooming toward Adams from the middle of field. If Hundley puts the ball on inside shoulder the safety would have arrived at about the same time as the ball; if safety cant make a play on ball, he's gonna light up Adams.
Now the problem for Hundley is the ball has to have enough loft so Adams can adjust; but not too much so the safety can get there. It was a perfect, difficult throw. Rodgers could not have played it better.
Adams adjusted very easily because he knew he didn't know where the safety was and knew if the safety was closing; Hundley would throw it outside.
