The Packers expected bad news about right tackle Bryan Bulaga after Monday night's knee injury and that's just what they got on Tuesday. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that tests have confirmed that Bulaga tore his ACL during Green Bay's loss to the Lions. Bulaga will miss the rest of the season as a [more]

Shame. Think that might be the last straw for his time in GB. At this point I doubt he would be back ready to play beginning next season. We can use the 5 million cap savings if we let him go next year.

You put the dead cap into one year, I spread it out over the final two years (which I think the rules used to say teams had to pay the dead cap off within two years, but I'm not sure about that and I don't know if that's the current rules).

I never wanted this guy and was especially disappointed we gave him that last contract. This is why Hayward didn't get his money...he wasn't reliable, oh, and we drafted two guys so we wouldn't have to.

Bulaga was a major injury risk I didn't feel worthy of taking. I'd be curious to count the games he missed since his last contract. I believe it was money not well spent. ***I counted and posted in edit below***

Not happy he's hurt but glad we can move on from him. Spriggs is back...gulp...maybe he can round into form even though that seems unlikely.

That's a big cap win that might be important should we have a new GM running things after this season.

EDIT: Not sure why anyone is posting he wouldn't be back until mid season next year? Texans expect Deshaun Watson will be ready for training camp. He'd be back in plenty of time. I'd cut bait but if Ted's around he'll probably be back unless Spriggs really impresses.

EDIT II: Just looked. Bulaga missed 4 regular season games in 2015, and will only play 5 games for us this season, so, 11 games missed in 2017. He did play the entire season in 2016. So, that's 4 games 2015 + 11 games 2017 = 15 games missed over a 3 year span not including playoffs. In essence, he got paid for 3 seasons but played 2. Money not well spent on the extension.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Brian Bulaga, GB's Right Tackle, is again injured. This time that injury is very serious. IMO, it is time to be practical and find a new starting RT. At the same time honoring Bulaga's deal with GB .
