What? You are not buying into the bit about Mikey being such a great QB genius? I mean look how he created Aaron Rogers from linebacker spare parts in his basement on Tuesday afternoons!

In one of those careful what you ask for thoughts, I kinda wanna see Rodgers with a different Packers HC just to see how the new OC/HC use him.

Funny how, Smith seems to be pretty Damn good since he has been with Andy Reid the last what 5 years
Why the hell did Ted Thompson hire Mike when he could have had Andy Reid?

Wait he couldn't because Reid was with The Eagles going to the playoffs year after year.

Eagle fans have to be happy that Reid was finally fired 5 years ago and they might just might finally make the playoffs again.

I have to agree this has been nothing but 11 years of total fuck ups by Ted Thompson and Mike.

This bullshit of playing winning football and not making The Super Bowl every year has to stop.

I say The Packers trade GM, Coaching Staff, and throw in The training staff straight up to The Brown's for theirs.

Everybody will be happy here at Packershome.

The 3 major problems will be gone and The Packers can start going to The SB every year!

Alex Smith became a force only after Mahomes was drafted to be his replacement. Being with Andy Reid or Harbaugh did nothing for him. Never seen anything like the Alex Smith situation. Was mediocre until Pat Mahomes made him look over his shoulder. Going to guess he goes right back to being Alex Smith if he's done in KC after this season.

Didn't say Hill was a savior, just that he played better.
And Hundley did ok? Sure....I guess we were watching a different Hundley.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think he will.

So Hill was going to be the savior this year.
Another Ted Thompson fuck up.
This whole thread is laughable.

The fact is, it's a massive assortment of mistakes, poor performances, random bad bounces, all outweighing a wide assortment of good to great moves that's to blame for where this team is where it's at right now.

Look at the bright side: If the Packers trade away Rodgers, not only will they get some awesome draft picks in the immediate future, but Green Bay will be reeling in high draft picks every season for the foreseeable future too. It's win-win!

Let me draw it out a little for you. Mike has done fine with Aaron. But people who are busy kissing Mike's but fail to factor in that Aaron is a rare and unique player. He would have succeed with a lot of HCs not just Mike and Mike alone. He growth and development would have been a lot different if he was tossed into the starting job in week 3 of his first season. His growth and development wold have been different if he had 3 or 4 HC in his first 5 or 6 years.

Mike did fine with helping Aaron develop but he is not a QB genius. Other QBs who played for McCarthy are/were:
Favre, He doesn't count because he was already starting QB and successful when McCarthy showed up as HC.

Flynn, Harrell, Hundley, Martin, Nall, Tolzien and Wallace. Which one of these players blossomed under the tutelage of McCarthy? Which one had a half way decent career? Which one became a starter after leaving GB?

McCarthy has been fortuitous. He coached Favre as QB coach in 99 and later as HC. And now he has Rodgers. He didn't light up the world as QB coach in KC or as OC in NO or SF. As I said he is a decent coach but he is not some genius that has QBs lining up to listen to him talk.

MM was coordinating the 32nd ranked O when we hired him, and preferred Smith to Rodgers.

Ever wonder where we'd be right now had we traded Hundley? Hill would still be here. We cut Hill and Callahan but somebody wanted Hill enough to stick him on their 53 while nobody wanted to put Callahan on theirs.
