He just spouted "run the table" and we ran the table. He said, "Relax", and things were just fine. Why nothing for the playoffs?

My take? He's smart.

During the relax thing he could look at the schedule and see a bunch of cupcakes coming so he knew saying relax wasn't really putting himself out there very much. Same song and dance with "run the table". He saw the soft schedule and Seattle at Lambeau and knew they could easily win 6 in a row.

Now, he just says, "It's win or go home". Yup...smart, again. Is no sense guaranteeing anything because he lacks the confidence knowing the cupcakes following "relax" and "run the table" aren't coming up for the Pack.

Does his lack of wordy confidence concern you? I know... he made no bold prediction in 2010 but I think that's because he didn't have confidence that the Lombardi would be hoisted, so, perhaps, his lack of bravado is no big deal. It's just interesting that he had an opportunity to up the ante and uttered a simple refrain that applies to all teams this time of year.

Ultimately, I think Aaron knows he won't have the success vs. the D's he might face he did vs. the cupcakes he just played and he also knows our D is going to get lit up putting immense pressure on him to play perfect which has never been good for him. When he presses he plays poorly so I wouldn't rule out seeing what we saw the last time we saw the Giants at Lambeau in the playoffs.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I read nothing into it. It could mean he thinks the Packers will lose 85 - 3 on Sunday, or it could mean he chooses not to make an epic statement every time a reporter puts a mic in front of him.

Everything is not some big dramatic event filled with secret meaning. Guaranteeing super bowls rarely turns out well for the speaker regardless of confidence.

I have uffda blocked, so I don't know what he's suggesting.

However my theory was that when Aaron made that statement, it was because he had decided to "try hard." He knew for whatever reason he jadn't been executing the offense or adhering to fundamentals, but that he was going to begin doing so. Thus, he could be reasonably assured that the team would begin faring better and wouls in fact have a chance to run the table.

He is not making that statement now, because he already IS doing all hose things, so he can't suddenly start playing even better than he is right now. Plus our CBs are F'd. (I personally do believe we will over come the CB situation, just as our scrub WRs stepped up last year. But that's just me.)

When you have nothing better to do than make conspiracy theories, just go to bed. Jesus.

We're not done running the table. There's four more games to win.

My goodness, the self-righteous, butthurt responses to the OP's screeds are far more obnoxious than the rants themselves. Is this really just some sort of echo chamber or safe space for you people? No wonder the volume of posts has declined so precipitously over the years. People get tired of the intolerance for dissent. Nerdmann is as far from Pollyanna positive as anyone is allowed to stray; anything more negative gets quickly shouted down, loyalty and fanhood get questioned, and buckets of tar and feathers gets brandished. It's boring and it's suffocating.

Maybe OP's tone was excessively strident, but his question strikes me as perfectly reasonable. He isn't peddling a conspiracy theory as you so uncharitably insist.

I swear, if I were an outsider, I'd say the trolls were the howling jackals ganging up on this dude in every thread to which he contributes.

buckeyepackfan (16h) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (16h) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (16h) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (16h) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL

Mucky Tundra (17h) : This game looks too big for Washington
packerfanoutwest (20h) : that being said, The Ravens are the Browns
packerfanoutwest (20h) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (21h) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,
beast (26-Jan) : Someone pointed out, with Raiders hiring Carroll, the division games between Carroll and Jim Harbaugh are back on (who can whine more games)
beast (26-Jan) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
