Whether it's due to lack of talent, failure to achieve potential, poor coaching, or adversity (injuries) is ultimately beside the point. Sometimes you have to be willing to admit you just suck. Otherwise you'll put off the hard decisions required to restore your organization to competitiveness.

True, but if the diagnosis is that the personnel are simply underperforming and in need of another chance, there is not going to be any incentive to move on from those personnel. They'll be brought back next year for another go-around. Maybe that's the right decision, but I'm getting skeptical.

I tend to lean toward the "Hire slow, fire fast" philosophy of personnel management.

Seems like they're getting the most out of their players, maximizing their potential. Not sure Mike has ever done that.

I live about 10 miles from Lincoln Financial Field. 😁

I'm tempted to see if there are any tickets available for next week's game, but I am not sure I can justify the outlay in cash right now, especially since Green Bay is almost certainly going to lose.

We can't run the ball effectively. Ty Montgomery averaging over 5ypc on the season plays 28 snaps with like 4 carries. But Mike will get up there and talk about how "we want to run the ball a little more". Don Barclay top back up gets destroyed and flagged repeatedly and only gets pulled when he has an injury. There is no accountability or chance to earn more snaps on this offense outside of injury. Whatever Mikes depth chart looks like post training camp is how it stays regardless of people stepping up or screwing up.

When do Packers fans admit to overvaluing the talent on this team?

http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/123395/green-bays-packers-are-now-favored-to-win-every-game

Before Bridgewater's injury, the Packers were the FPI favorites in 15 of their 16 scheduled games. The lone exception was in Week 2, when the Packers travel to Minnesota. That game has now shifted in favor of the Packers, making them the favorite in all 16 games entering the season.

When you are picking perennially in the 20's of every draft, your talent level will go down over time. Which is why you need a splash free agency signing occasionally.

Now, on to the coaching staff - what a fucking mess is about all I can say. If you shitcan Capers, do you scrap the 3-4? Or keep Capers and give him the linebackers he needs.

The difference between players succeeding and failing is the coaching and developing. And here's the key factor ... UTILIZING and IDENTIFYING the players talent on an individual basis and maximizing that in your scheme. The Packers do not do this. They find square pegs for their round holes and shove, shove, slam and get players doing things they are not able to do.

A huge factor is this training staff. They couldn't keep a player healthy if they were wrapped in bubble wrap. But it's not JUST that either. Aaron's healthy. But he's not right.

On Barclay. I'm not nearly as brilliant as Mike, but here's my thinking during camp and early season.

My BU swing tackle is a rookie!!!!!!!!!!! A ROOKIE!!!!! And I have 2 stating tackles that have had their share of injuries. Inside I have a BU veteran guard [Barclay] who should be serviceable 2 years removed from injury and Linsley coming back week 6. Given this every damn rep Spriggs gets is at Tackle...EVERY ONE! Until maybe around week 10 or 11, after showing more proficiency at Tackle and then we can get him a few reps at G.

I'll bet with Lang and JCT out, Spriggs this week took his first few snaps at G because he was backing up 4 OL positions v. Wash. Ya think Spriggs would have done better than Barclay against Baker? YOU ARE JUST WRONG! This week Spriggs should get a ton more reps at G and Murphy will be backing up 5 positions unless, as I suspect, they call up Patrick or Flores to play inside for Goodson's spot on 53. Then Murphy's reps can be focused at Tackle.

Zero2Cool (2h) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (5h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (7h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
