If GM Ted Thompson wants to free up money to re-sign Nick Perry, JC Tretter, T.J. Lang, Eddie Lacy and others in the offseason, he might want to think about releasing Clay Matthews, who'll count $15.2 million against the salary cap in 2017. Do I expect Thompson to even consider cutting Matthews? Not really, but

In that case bring out the ax.
The Packers don't get 15.2 million dollars in value from him, he's still good but not that good.
Plus Green Bay has another guy that falls into that category who should renegotiate as well.

With only 13 tackles and 3 sacks so far in this 2016 Season, Clay Matthews may not even reach Pro-Bowl status this season. You will however see him flinging his hair around and showing off his mussels in nationally seen commercials.

Face it, he's having a poor season as is Julius Peppers . Clay may be about to exit as did A.J. HAWK !

Always felt Clay was a one-trick pony and when he moved to Middle/Inside LB I thought that was quite unselfish of him.

You folks always want a player to take a pay cut and when a player is outplaying their contract, you don't say a damn thing. You're no different and no better than the greedy owners of the NFL.
