Never mind the burning of his Cheesehead as part of his recruiting pitch for Aaron Rodgers, what Jets cornerback Ahmad Gardner said is more interesting.

Also, basically as I posted the first message, it was announced Bakhtiari's contract was restructured, meaning that he's probably not going anywhere either, as Packers just took on a lot of his pay officially, which means less likely to be traded.

Also, doesn't Rodgers have a $40 million or something dead cap hit coming as soon as he's not on the Packers active roster anymore? Weather he retires or is traded.

Add to this. Packers were already under the salary cap. This move basically ensures he is with Packers next year, right? Why else do this and cost yourself more dead cap next year?

RFAs are rarely signed by other teams though. And $4.3m is pretty reasonable for young swing tackle who may still improve, especially when your star LT is 31 yards old and has missed more games than he has played the last 3 years. So I don't think it would make much sense to tender him and trade him for less than a 2nd round pick. Unless they really need that cap space for someone else.

But yeah, they could get a 2 for him if there's a team out there that really needs a tackle. But I would guess most teams in that situation would be more comfortable drafting one in the second round instead.
