He's already replaced with Nick Perry and Datone Jones. Add Fackrell to that next year. Maybe dropping some weight will make Jayrone as good as he was last year.

You can let players go... hell EVERY SINGLE TEAM DOES! ... The Packers just recently let Sitton go...

This ain't Madden... you can't keep everyone, and you can't redo every deal when you run into a cap problem.

If the team is able to sign Tretter or Lang the other could be gone since they have Lindsey.

And Lindsley is a competent player and might make Lang expendable, but Tretter is young, intelligent and very athletic. He's a better version of Mike Flanagan in my opinion, and even more versatile. Letting him walk would be really foolish. In fact, he better be extended before December or Ted Thompson should be gone.

Of course, maybe they already got Spriggs for that instead.

Not sure how long Bulaga's contract is for. I don't see the Packers not trying to sign TJ Lang, but Ted Thompson does not have a good track record with resigning veteran guards. Should be interesting to see how things shake out.

I guess the argument will be at center, but I just think Tretter is a much more versatile player. Very impressed with his combination of strength, speed, and intelligence.

With Peppers coming off the payroll, along with a few others, and the additional space we have I doubt we will be in a place where we need to cut Matthews. The top RB'S in the NFL are garnering 6-8 million. Trotter shouldn't be expensive and if he is we have leverage with Linsley, so letting him walk wouldn't hurt us.

When it comes down to it, if we are asking if we want to keep Matthews over any of those guys I won't even think about it until we talk about Lacy. If presedence with Peppers tells us anything- Ted is faithful to his contract in paying that last expensive year.

Mucky Tundra (13h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (15h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (15h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
