I'm still pretty worried simply because of our D-line. Up front, we're pretty unknown outside of Mike Daniels. Guion was okay last year, and Datone Jones isn't much to write home about either (and he should be playing more standing up).
Dean Lowry and Kenny Clark are unknowns in rookies. Pennel shows promise (and I have high hopes for him) but he hasn't played extended snaps in either of his first two seasons.
So outside of Mike Daniels, we don't really have anyone proven or with consistent track record of preforming well. It is quite possible that both Lowry and Clark don't do all that much in year 1 and we have a D-line leaving a lot to be desired. If the D-line holds up, I think our Defence will be good enough to make us legit contenders (assuming Aaron and our offense return to form).
I expect Capers can utilize Peppers, Datone and Nick Perry along the D-line occasionally (and he can probably get away with it especially in Nickel given their body types). Given depth at OLB, finding way to get most of Peppers, Elliot, Clay, Datone and Perry on the field together would seem like a good thing. Still, I'm not convinced that is enough for us to overcome a D-line that doesn't see one of Guion, Lowry or Clark step up and play well.
