A couple of weeks ago, I went to the local Sam Ash on open mic night to see a girl I am dating play with a garage band she joined. She was asked to play drums for them, and she's off to a rough start, but not bad for only playing for three weeks.

So while she and her guitar player are waiting for the rest of the group to show up, other people are on stage having a go.

At one point, these older guys are up there playing "Sweet Home Chicago" so I ask the organizer if she minds if I jump in. Because I am a drummer (they are always short on drummers) she and then these guys on stage welcome me to sit in. Despite 3 years of rust, it's an easy song and we nailed it, then followed with "Midnight Special"

When the next act gets up there, the guitar player asks me to join the band. And thus my dream of joining a band of old guys who play bluesy rock is fulfilled. We've had a few practices and I am shaking off the rust, and these guys are all really good. We played at jam night tonight at Sam Ash and it was really good. We're practicing/nailing down a set list so we can try a few parties and maybe a couple bars. (the singer has often played for the vets at the VA, and I would love to go there)

Wish me uck. I'll posts vids or sound clips as I get 'em!

OlHoss.....Good UCK!!!šŸ˜
I myself LOVE to sing! Being on stage is an adrenilin rush that you have to have to believe it.
I have several videos on youtube.
I lost my voice since September 2nd when I had my back fusion surgery. They had a tube stuck down my throat.
But in the last week it seems it's finally coming back. I haven't sung before any people since I sang the national anthem at the Milwaukee Brewers game in August of 2010.
Enjoy yourself, and do what you love!!!!😁

ok this is our first gig in front of people, an open mic night at a local bar. Because of the small size of the stage area, I cannot be seen much on the drums but there I am.

We played a UNICEF charity event last Saturday, and won $10. It wasn't much, but now it's official...I am a PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN.

Gotta say, when I noticed this had an update I half expected it to contain the band splitting up due to "Musical Differences" lol šŸ˜‚

Oddly enough, the Sam Ash store where I met my bandmates has a jam night every Tues and open mic every Wed. If you were closer you could jump on in. Another thing becoming increasingly popular down this way is open mic nights at bars so up and coming bands can show their stuff.

Mucky Tundra (4h) : Colts 1st round TE Tyler Warren also got prank called, was that Jax Ulbrich as well?
Zero2Cool (4h) : Jax Ulbrich, Jeff Ulbrich’s son, released an apology for his role in the Shedeur Sanders prank call.
Martha Careful (4h) : apparently he did not participate in practice or play on the east west shrine game nor the NFL combine. The kid was a mediocre spoiled brat
Mucky Tundra (4h) : Yeah that one that was a super wounded duck that Sanders supporters are highlighting to prove a point
Zero2Cool (5h) : Shough is the guy who missed guys at combine isn't he?

Martha Careful (25-Apr) : No thanks. Not a dependable guy to be in the right place and run the right route. Dumb as a box of rocks.
Zero2Cool (25-Apr) : Losing 2nd round pick for a one year rental, not ideal. Especially a headcase.
