My late father in law was in the invasion of Normandy. My son and my wifes brother are both big into histroy like that so last year they made plans to be two of only 40 people to go on the Band of Brothers tour.
They left Missoula yesterday at noon and landed in Paris this morning. They will be retracing the route of Eagle Company as best they can starting tomorrow with a visit to Normandy. I'm not sure what the whole itinerary is but they will be on this tour for 10 days. What an experience for them.
Later this summer my son is going back and retracing my Fathers route in the war...starting in North Africa, then over to Sicily and finally to Italy. My dad was in Monte Casino when the war ended.
As for me.....I'm still around keeping busy. Cut the lawn...take a nap. Have a beer, take a nap. Wash the car...take a nap. This retirement wear a person out. I just had surgery on my left hand for Trigger Finger on the middle and ring finger. Watched the whole procedure. Hell, I could have done that for a lot less cost.
Anyone for a Weenie Roast?
