I want to know why he would have to apologize? He has to apologize for playing all the years for them, taking pay cuts to resign players, helping the team with revenue from all of the merchandise that was sold with his likeness on it?

When did he ever take pay cuts? In fact, he never even offered to do so. The fact you hold him in such a high regard is crazy. He always took his money and never offered less so forget that part about him. Sure, he restuctured his contract but it benefited himself. You need to stop thinking Favre is God and realize that Montana, Bradshaw, Young, Roethlisberger and Brady have all won more super bowls in LESS seasons. He was never THAT good.

Buddy he owns the records. You can debate if that is good enough or not because he hasn't won more than one superbowl...but you cant say "He was never THAT good." He was a damn good QB. Look at the numbers.

And made watching football the most fun I've ever seen a single person make it. He played the game like a big kid. Unfortunately, he seems to do a lot of other stuff like a big kid as well.

It's stupid how people rate QBs by Super Bowl Wins. Why isn't Otto Graham the best QB in your opinion then? Some QBs just don't have the opportunity to have that kind of talent around him all career long as most of the players you mentioned had.

packer fan in Finland--You are correct, Restructuring Favre's contract to helped Packer's met salary cap problem in say 2001- 2004 (Former Packer GM Mike Sherman era), is far different that taking a pay cut.

There is no Packer contract restructuring policy anymore , Since Ted Thompson got here in 2005., it is pay as you go -every year.

Brett Favre was an arrogant idiot who didn't even know what the Nickel defense until he met Mike Holmgren.

He was a second-round draft choice by the Atlanta Falcons who threw multiple interceptions. Ron Wolf looked like an idiot trading a first round pick for him.

As we all know, the risk was worth it.

Then Favre partied it up too much and almost lost his family due to his negligence.

After that, he became the player we all loved.

We've given Brett Favre way too many chances, yet he thinks he's in the position to force our GM to do whatever the hell he wants him to do. He retired and wanted to come back in the middle of a change at QB.

He wanted to be traded to an NFC North Rival so he could beat us.

If you can't admit all that, read his freakin' book. And if you're not into reading the book, you were never really a Favre fan.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I love Favre, don't get me wrong. He is an amazing QB. He did stack up winning seasons throughout the majority of his career and we had a lot of division championships. But, I'm just saying he's been a bit overrated the past couple of years and he thinks he's due more than what is actual on the table. In other words, I think the Packers organization doesn't need an apology from Favre or vice versa. And yes, I'll agree I may have been a bit overtly harsh in my first post, but I was just trying to stress a point; Brett was GOOD, but he wasn't GOD.

So tell me this if he was to make 9 million one year but he redoes his contract and makes only 7 million thats not a paycut? they added on years which meant we would have him for cheaper ( people said the same thing about signing Rodgers this year or if you wait then you might have to pay more). Did he not offer to pay Randy Moss's contract if Ted Thompson got him? But then again the people saying he never did are probably to young to remember how he would do it to sign the likes of Butler.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Whether he got those millions this year or later, he still go the money. Thus, it is called a restructured contract, not a pay cut. That's not taking anything away from what he did. It was very admirable no matter how you perceive it. Not a whole lot of players do that. It was a very unselfish thing to do for the better of the team.
