I don't think any player is going to come out and say Favre was a distraction. I think it would be rather disrespectful to one of the franchise's greatest player.

dhazers new official site name for me is the "Energizer Bunny."

Man, the guy just keeps going and going and going.......

First of all, much of his blame on Ted Thompson SHOULD actually be directed towards McCarthy, if anybody, and that is a stretch.

With all the looking back and hindsight MM should have fired Sanders before last year. Now I totally understand why that did not happen. In '06 the defense made good strides in the last half of the season and of course in '07 they were even better....so, why WOULD he fire him?

As far as Ted Thompson is concerned you don't win 13 games and get as far as the NFC Championship game on your home field without a quality roster.

The problem last year under Sanders was that the DL would have had to have been one of the best in the NFL because he was so intent on rushing four guys 90% of the time. When Jenkins went down and KGB turned out to be a third down pass rushing specialist DUD the lack of fleibility in Sanders' philosophy and inability to adapt roared it ugly head. The result? Near miss after near miss.

So Dhazer gets his day now because of last year but with Capers and Co. it's a whole new ballgame. That defensive coaching staff has all of the NFL's respect and has proven they can turn teams around.

So a new day is coming soon and I am saying hear and now it's not because Ted Thompson has or hasn't done so much as it will be the decision to go in a different direction with the defense which was a McCarthy call. A couple to maybe three new faces. That's about it.

How can that not affect your football team? How can you say and Im asking you this Aaron to find out; hes in, hes out, hes in, hes out, hes in, hes out, hes in, hes out, how can how can that not how does that affect your football team?

"Irvin" wrote:

It does. How can it not affect it? I mean, when he flew into Green Bay the day afteror the day of the Family Night scrimmage, I mean that wastalk about an awkward locker room.

I mean, Ive been the guy since March, you know? And then everybodys like well okay, whats gonna happen? Bretts gonna come back, hes gonna be the guy? Or Aarons gonna be the guy? Or theyll compete for the job? Nobody knowing whats going on, of course thats going to affect your football team.

Damn, I thought I lacked being tactful. LTF raises the bar ...

Aaron Rodgers did not say Brett Favre was a distraction. In that snippet he says that Brett arriving in GB during the Family Night created an awkward locker room because the team didn't know 'who is the guy now?'. I didn't read that Aaron said Brett was a distraction in there.

Porky said he doesn't think any player will say Favre was a distraction. It was then noted that Rodgers said it was a distraction. I am saying, Rodgers has not said Favre (the man, the player, not the situation) was a distraction. I wasn't denying that the situation (which is what RP is referring to) was a distraction, more so on the lines of how I read porkys post which was saying Favre won't be labeled a distraction by any player. Which I have not heard or seen any player say Brett Favre was a distraction.

There's no denying the situation created by Favre unretiring was a distraction. I can't think of any player during that time who was interviewed by anyone who wasn't asked about Brett at least once. How can that not be a distraction?
