There is no team that has done this since late 1990's.

Yeah, but the problem with the approach is that you are always going into the season with players in the starting lineup doing on the job training. Sometimes rookies pan out like Randall and Rollins, but then there are also times you get the Barringtons and Jake Ryans too.

I prefer solidifying the lineup prior to the season by all means available, instead of going into the season with holes in the roster.

Oh, and Dom Capers replaced. Otherwise, Ted is going to find some young, cheap, and good players in this upcoming draft that will help the Packers continue to be highly successful.

And Yes he could have signed a TE and ILB.... but...This is what Porforis been talking about: Your holding Ted accountable to a standard rooted in your idealistic thinking; but Ted is operating under the constraints of a real world like this:

Per Walter football the top 5 TEs were:
*Julius Thomas – 5 yrs 46M; 80T, 46-455-5 7 drops
*Jorden Cameron- 2 yrs 15M; 70T, 35-386-3 1 fumble just had to take a paycut or get cut
*Charles Clay 5 yrs 38M; 77T, 51-521-3, 1 fumble, 4 drops
*Gresham 1 yr 3.1M; 32T-18-223-1 2 drops Cards weak at TE don’t want him no more
*Niles Paul- He just sucks

Top 5 ILBs
*Mcclain 1 yr 3M-A Headcase and mediocre player not good enough to make any difference; he could only get a 1 yr 4M contract this year based on his play last year
*D. Harris Resigned w/ Jets 3yr 21.5M this guy is good, our D would have been better with him but he wasn’t leaving Jets and there’s a limit as to how much an ILB can improve a defense-we still would have lost to AZ in playoffs
*Maluga 3 yr 15M he’s have started; but would have made no significant difference
*Foster Cut by Bears no better than what we got. Of course Boob McSpinn declared Ted an idiot for not signing him. This guy was so great last year so many GMs pounding the door for his services this year making Ray Lewis look like a high school ILB that he got a whopping 2yr 2.5M deal.
*Nate Irving 3 yrs 7.5M no better than what we got and missed ½ the games the last 2 years
*Curtis Loften 3 yr 18M just got cut because he sucked

Now tell me:
-Which 2 should Ted have bought?
-How would these 2 made any difference in winning?
-With the money spent on them, who would we NOT have signed and how that loss would not have hurt the team?
-explain how the loss of 2 4th round picks this year is justified by the said signings?

Fact is, NONE of these guys would have made us better if they came to GB [if Harris and Maluga changed teams they would have probably sucked too]. Doing as you suggested would have only served to piss away $48-65M; 2 4th Rnd picks and future Packers like Mike Daniels and Mason Crosby.

ILB since Bishop got hurt and TE since Finley got hurt. Using UFA or late round draft pick fodder is not addressing the problems, well not in my opinion anyway.

2015 LB Jake Ryan
2015 TE Dennard Backman
2014 TE Richard Rodgers
2014 LB Carl Bradford
2013 LB Nate Palmer
2013 LB Sam Barrington

It appears the Packers have been trying to improve the LB and TE positions, however, have failed to develop that talent. Perhaps the Packers should just take LB then TE and alternate throughout the draft to show they are attempting to improve the position. Of course, we have the benefit of hindsight to say "really, player X was an attempt to fill the spot?" but it's easy to be cowardly cynic. Who knew Donald Driver would turn out? Nick Collins? The list goes on and on. If the draft were an exact science, we wouldn't have helluva lot to talk about would we lol

😄😄😄😄.
Packers run their base 3-4 D about 25% of the time.
Dom's schemes don't call for 2 ILB's all that much.
Can we give Ryan another year before falsely claiming he is a bust.
Barrington is still a mystery.
He stays healthy, there may not be much of a need at the position, considering Clay will still be moving around and taking some snaps on the inside.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Martha Careful (20h) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (20h) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
