Such hyperbole. No one thought Owen Daniels would have been the Packers "savior." What's the point in acting as such? Some of us just thought he would have helped the Packers last season, as he is a proven and savvy veteran. As I have said in previous post, I still don't think it would have been enough to get the Packers to the Super Bowl, but he would have helped. That help might not have been worth the salary, though.
EDIT: Moreover, the Bronco's are likely in a rebuilding/retooling mode again now due to having some cap issues and losing some players (and uncertainly at QB). What's the point in keeping a decent aging TE around? In their context, it's better to go with cheaper youth. The same could certainly be said for the Packers this season, as well.
