I think he has learned his lesson and will truly hang them up... maybe now the healing can begin on all sides of the fences.

I think his big issue is his perception of the packers being dishonest with him. As in any business, if you feel your bosses are not being upfront with you there are bound to be hard feelings.

I don't see him being too involved with the Pack until Thompson is elsewhere. that seems to be his main issue.

Did he really take shots at the Packers or Ted himself?

The way I read it.. more so he has deep seeded anger at Thompson..

It was discussed at great length last preseason.. but basically, Thompson was the first GM in the Brett days that didn't cater to Brett.. there were no sit downs on Thursday nights to discuss the team like Wolf and Holmgren did.. no checking with Brett on moves like Sherman did.

Should Brett ever gotten that type of treatment, no, but those are the sins of our past in Green Bay. And somebody needed to correct that oversight.. Ted did just that and it started the friction. Add in some piss poor communication within the organization and you have conflict deeper than the grand canyon.

Hurting the fans and teammates of the franchise wasn't the target.. it was just caught up in the wash. IMO.

This quote from a previous interview:

"The only thing I worried about was winning,'' he said. "There was a time in my career where I paid more attention to individual stats, but in the last couple of years the most important thing was winning and personal accomplishments. In the end, that's what matters most. Was I pissed at Green Bay? Sure. But I wasn't pissed at their players. I did keep up with the wins and losses. Sure, it was hard not to do that. I didn't wish them bad, but I wished us better.''

I know that this is another "emotional" outburst from Favre but it strikes me odd that he states that, only in the last couple of years was winning more important than personal accomplishments. Funny, he used to always say that he could care less about any of his stats or personal accomplishments. Well, which is it.

Good luck to you Brett. I do appreciate the magnificent career you had with the Pack. I just can't help but feel that, in the last few years, you have tarnished your legacy. I suppose the Packers organization did as well.

Javon Walker, Ahman Green, Brett Favre.....in EVERY instance Ted Thompson was crucified for these decisions by a very vocal presence amongst Packer fandom....and in each case, hindsight has proven him correct each and every time.

Say what you will about his public persona, but the guy knows when to cut bait with aging players in decline.

I dont expect Brett to be back in Green Bay any time soon or anytime with Ted Thompson in the front office. The stuff he said about what Ted Thompson did was the truth you can't deny that. Ship him to the Jets because they were a bad team and the Packers won't play them. Best of Luck Brett lets go hunting lol.

Maybe we can retire his jersey in about 3 years.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Now wait a freaking minute.. Brett agreed to be traded to the Jets at that point.. because of his desire to play.

Brett is pissed at Ted Thompson.. to this day. That IMO, is the reason Mike McCarthy and Brett decided to part company last fall.. can you imagine the team turmoil with Brett and Ted at each other for the entire year.

That is a two way street.

This whole Jets comment is sour grapes.. Brett wanted his freedom so that he could hand pick a team of his choice to make Ted pay. That isn't smart business if your are running the Packers, Ted or not.

Sorry, Brett got cut out of the loop in Green Bay, didn't have the pull with management he once had and that didn't sit well with him.. it snowballed from there.

And what, dhazer...TT should ship him to someone within the division/conference where he may come back to bite the Packers??

There is some sound logic!!

Dude became a bitch, dude got shipped out...pretty simple when you consider even his most recent words indicate that he believed himself bigger than the Green Bay Packers.

beast (now) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (16h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (17h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
