I am changing my mind from Jenkins to Raji.

The NT position is so critical we can not afford to guess if Pickett will be good and need to answer the question of who will step up if he goes down?

I will say I like Pickett and feel he will do well but when the defense relies so heavily on this position I would want them to go to Raji for insurance. One fear I have is that with Denver also migrating to the 3-4 that they jump us in order to get him before we can.

Other than that move I don't see where we don't have a shot at him and it could be if we get jumped that Curry or Jenkins is still there which wouldn't hurt my feelings.

IF we could not get Raji, Curry, or, Jenkins I would almost be inclined to trade back five spots or so if it meant getting a Brian Cushing type player and picking up another mid-second rounder.

That would give us five players in the first three rounds and I think we could shore up a couple of weak spots with this strong draft class.

Raji would be nice. I don't see the team lining up the same NT and DEs play after play. Try imagining Picket, Raji, Jenkins on run downs. A packer version of the williams wall.

Everybody seems to have large concerns about the DL, but my largest concern is on the O-line. Both tackle positions need to be replaced either this year or next, and we are in a great position to draft a blue chip LT prospect in this draft. I want O line help that's ready to play day 1, not the project guys we currently have.

I agree we need to draft a nose tackle, but we should be able to get one later.

I guess I feel like this is the kind of announcement that warrants a press conference, warhawk...

I also think it wouldn't hurt to add one tweener in the second round or so after we get the big NT in the first round.

Or that could easily be switched around...get a tweener in the first and get a big NT in the second.

You pretty much have me swayed. I would like Raji or Everette Brown, but if one of those top 4 OT prospects reaches #9 and we pass on him, I get the feeling we will be missing him in a year or two. I am intrigued by a number of players, but need-wise I think you're right.

On the flip side though, think about Everette Brown. He has tremendous natural talent as a pass rusher. Imagine what some tutelage under Greene could do. He could be something special.

And if you want Raji in the 1st but we don't take him, keep an eye on his counterpart on that BC D-line, Ron Brace. He was the immovable rock in the interior line that allowed Raji to fly all over the place and disrupt.

Myself, I have concerns about both lines. I would be happy as could be if Ted Thompson uses all picks on lineman on either side of the ball.

Why does everyone want Malcolm Jenkins? It's effectively giving up on Pat Lee, last year's second rounder, whom I think has a lot of potential.

I think we should trade our first rounder and 3rd rounder or something like that to Philadelphia for their first rounders. Then trade the other 3rd rounder and 4th rounder into late 2nd round. Ideally, we could have:

William Beatty - 5th best OT in the draft
Tyson Jackson - DE spot opposite of Jenkins
Ron Brace - NT
Robert Ayers - OLB Tweener

That's our 4 biggest needs filled right there. We would still have 5th, 6th, 7th and any compensation picks the league will give us.
This is a placeholder

Zero2Cool (12h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (17h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (17h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (17h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (17h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (17h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (17h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (17h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (17h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (17h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (18h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (18h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (18h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (18h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (19h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (19h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (19h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
