Oh, that was his idea that the Packers forced Nick Collins to have surgery? My mistake then as I read it as he was stating a fact.

Uffda said many times once the season starts, he goes into hibernation. If you read what he said, you would know this. Your bromance for the guy is starting to cross a border of being gross. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course. 😁

Nick Collins made the decision to have the surgery. If you do not know facts, maybe stop spouting off as if you do? I really don't know why you have this annoying hatred for the Packers medical staff, but you really do not have any idea what you are talking about. Focus on things you know, like, teams self shitting for example or perhaps a lull or two.

The way I remember they told him they wouldn't let him play until he got it. Then he did, so they still wouldn't let him play.

Meanwhile I've seen hundreds of "disc bulges" just like that get successfully treated without any surgery whatsoever. Therefore I conclude that the team doctor is incompetent and does not know wtf he is doing.

That's a far cry from what you said. And Nick was told for him to have any chance at playing, he needed the surgery. This is very common and transparent. Nick could have chosen no surgery and walked away. Nick made the choice, no one made him.

We have to stop thinking we are entitled to medical concerns of athletes. Know your role and accept it is not your business.

Those were not the expectations. Those were mere hopes. If the guy wanted ANY CHANCE at playing again, he had to have the surgery. It is critical to understand that phrase -- ANY CHANCE -- here. It does not mean he was expected to return to the field. It does not mean he was immediately cleared once surgery was over. No, nothing of the sort. It means for the player to have had ANY CHANCE (widely acknowledged as slim) the surgery was necessary.

A lot of athletes are posed with the option of retire or have surgery and work your ass off to get back on the field. ACL for example. You can recover from that and live a normal non-athlete life, but if you want ANY CHANCE of playing again you are better off to have the surgery.

Ted Thompson may have made an error last year moving Mulumba to IR too quickly [leaving us w/ 52 on roster] because for a player to qualify for a 3rd year on practice squad the team must have a full roster the entire time the guy was on PS. It's hard to believe Ted Thompson would have goofed like that, so maybe the roster has to be at 52 for more than 1 week and/or to qualify for those newly created 2 practice squad spots the 52 roster thingy doesn't matter.

And as Beast points out, if you have an open roster spot, all 10 guys on the PS might get pi$$ed and/or feel the club doesn't value them at all.

It's possible they're doing tests that will affect what seems to be the inevitable. But I think its just a stall until they decide what to do w/ the roster spot.
