Pretend for a moment you are the GM of the Packers going into this offseason of player movement and trades.

A GM of another team calls and offers a franchise type player along either of the weak spots on this team, say Oline or Dline...

Whom are your untouchables on the roster not to be included in any dealings?

You have three.. list them an why.

1.
2.
3.

I wish to not taint the debate with my picks yet..

Nobody is untouchable should the right deal arrive on the desk. That said...

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Greg Jennings
3. Cullen Jenkins

Curious.. Why Jenkins over Kampman?

1) Rodgers
2) Jennings

For me, that's it. With the switch to the 3-4, I don't know how any of our current front 7 will perform. It would be nice to assume that guys like Kampman, Jenkins, Barnett, and Hawk will seamlessly transition into the new scheme, but realistically there will probably be problems with some of these guys in the new system. So if we can move them now at the height of their value and sign/draft guys who have experience in the scheme then I'm all for it. The O-line hasn't been anything special for years, and the most important position if filled by a guy who's body is breaking down, so no untouchables there. On the backend, Woodson and Harris are getting old, Williams should be a solid starter (but probably not a superstar), and Collins needs to have more than one Pro Bowl calibre season to be untouchable in my book.

DE seems harder to fill, with quality anyways, than OLB in the 3-4.

1. Aaron Rodgers - He's the franchise quarterback and he played well for a first year starter. You don't move a young talented franchise quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. Not after the year he had.

2. Greg Jennings - He's the best playmaker on the offense and really the only legit threat to score on every play. He's the best overall offensive player on the team.

3. Charles Woodson - It would've been Aaron Kampman, but the move to the 3-4 forces Kampman out because of the questionable fit. Charles Woodson moves up because I think he's one of the three best corners in football right now.

Here is my list.

1. Aaron Rodgers - Franchise QB's are like gold.. you keep them, polish them up when needed with more cash and keep them healthy.

That is it for me.. no others are off limits. Some players would take a hell of an offer and player in return to move though.

Would I deal Greg Jennings... yes I would, if the right "left tackle" was offered, say a Joe Thomas type tackle.. I would pull the trigger this offseason. That or say Amobi Okoye or Mario Williams type on the defensive line. Why?

In the passing game, you can create more in terms of scheme to make up the short term loss of a Greg Jennings, where as if you have a weak tackle or have to blitz to create pass rush you are severely hampering the overall dynamics of the scheme.

Granted none of those trades would happen, but I happen to think that Greg Jennings, as good of a player that he is, is not untouchable on the roster.

There.. now I probably have blown my thread apart, but it is honestly how I look at it.

Thank you! I was waiting for someone to say this. I couldn't agree more. I just wasn't sure how to say it, and you expressed my thoughts better than I could. +1

Only 3?
No can do.

Untouchables on O - Driver, Jennings, Aaron
On D - Kampy, Collins, Barnett, Jenkins, and of course Woody.

Don't be surprised to add Tramon Williams and Atari Bigby to that list too. Williams is an up and coming talent as is Bigby. With this new D and the way Bigby hits...

Also, do we really want to lose Rouse? He's another young up and coming stud.

Now explaining every single one I chose:
Driver - Leadership. The will to fight for every single yard. Intangibles. Pound for pound one tough person. NEVER gives up. He's the guy I want when things get ugly.

Aaron - Our franchise QB.

Jennings - Do I really need to say anything here?

Kampy - He does what it takes to win. Remember how people said "he has this problem" and the next year, he'd fix it? I specifically said that his faults are he can't rush the QB and the very next year, well, you know what happpened.

Collins - I was pissed at him in '07 for dropping INTs. '08, he hangs on to seven and leads the NFL with 3 returned for TDs. Had the DL not sucked, he would have won us some games.

Barnett - Loved the guy since he joined us in '03. Saw so much potential. Give him a better system and you will see production.

Jenkins - His injury is one of the big reasons we ended up 6-10 last year.

Woody - Do I really need to say anything here?
