A Colt video that he released a few months back. Again he is so intriguing it makes you wonder just how he must come across in the locker room. They give lots of guys a chance even though they are idiots.

But scouts normally try to dig very deep, they very well could know of something or heard of things that the national media haven't heard about him yet and want to stay away, or simply don't trust him to stay out of trouble.

Also while Lyerla was here, I kept thinking his hands seems questionable and I thought he might make a better H-back/FB ... and the Packers just drafted one of those, so maybe they're less interested?

Has Lyerla ever discharged a firearm in a city, then fled from police?

It SUCKS that Quarless turned out to be an idiot.

Probably going to cost him his career.

Thanfully it's only July, plenty of time to make any personnel decisions.

I'm gonna sit back and see what happens.

Not The end of the world or the season.
Come the end of July there Will be 90 or so guys taking the field, whether Quarless is 1 of them or Not, there will be plenty if competition at the TE position.

Moderately, at least, I was a Quarless fan. What he did was bonehead stupid, but I'd like to see the Packers investigate, and if there is any hope/any extenuation at all, maybe give him another chance. In my book, this is not as bad as a drug problem or a chronic injury, although the NFL probably sees it differently in terms of suspensions.

Speaking of injuries, there's one guy nobody has mentioned - and I doubt there is even 1% chance - somebody I honestly was not that upset to see gone: Jermichael Finley.

Lyerla? I was moderately for the idea of giving him a shot before, and I wouldn't oppose it now. However, I bet Thompson/McCarthy/et al would laugh at even a suggestion of that. Has even any media type brought up Lyerla? Or is it just in the minds of some fans?

I still say Gresham might be the best bet - IF his back is not a chronic problem and IF he isn't too expensive. I don't like Zach Miller of Seattle (wasn't there two Zach Millers and this was the least good of the two?). There are always scrap heap guys that Aaron Rodgers could turn into gems if we needed somebody more than we have.

The bottom line, to me, is I have been advocating all along using less TE and more WR - 3, 4, even 5 wideout packages often. I'd much rather see even a decent WR targeted than a very good TE. Maybe this will push things even more in that direction.

McCarthy should and probably will cut him! There is no excuse for that stupid kind of behavior! IMO!

This was stupid and and minimum Clueless was in the "wrong place at the wrong time," but he deserves his day in court. The story has already changed from "shooting into the ground" to "shooting into the air." A small inconsistency, but it may point to more bullshit. After all, it's the 4th of July. There's fireworks going off all over the place.

Not wise to flee and try to hide the gun, that's true. But let's let the facts come out and see where it all leads.

That occurred to me also - 4th of July and shooting guns - a time honored custom a lot of places. If it was "into the air", that makes something like that more likely - stupid but less malicious. People who have done a helluva lot worse get second chances and beyond.
