Moderately, at least, I was a Quarless fan. What he did was bonehead stupid, but I'd like to see the Packers investigate, and if there is any hope/any extenuation at all, maybe give him another chance. In my book, this is not as bad as a drug problem or a chronic injury, although the NFL probably sees it differently in terms of suspensions.
Speaking of injuries, there's one guy nobody has mentioned - and I doubt there is even 1% chance - somebody I honestly was not that upset to see gone: Jermichael Finley.
Lyerla? I was moderately for the idea of giving him a shot before, and I wouldn't oppose it now. However, I bet Thompson/McCarthy/et al would laugh at even a suggestion of that. Has even any media type brought up Lyerla? Or is it just in the minds of some fans?
I still say Gresham might be the best bet - IF his back is not a chronic problem and IF he isn't too expensive. I don't like Zach Miller of Seattle (wasn't there two Zach Millers and this was the least good of the two?). There are always scrap heap guys that Aaron Rodgers could turn into gems if we needed somebody more than we have.
The bottom line, to me, is I have been advocating all along using less TE and more WR - 3, 4, even 5 wideout packages often. I'd much rather see even a decent WR targeted than a very good TE. Maybe this will push things even more in that direction.
