The idiocy continues.

Not sure when the idea that 7th round draft picks, especially WR's , were supposed to make an instant impact came about, but that is about as ignorant as just using combine numbers to determine how good a player will be.

I actually blame Ted Thompson for the fans over the top expectations.
He has done such a fine job of finding players who can immediately step into the starting lineup, fans just expect it from everyone! 😄

It's been said many times, but some are so dense they just Can't absorb the fact that combines and pro days only help in determining when a player does or does not get drafted.

Those numbers mean nothing once the players take the field.
All the coaches are concerned about is who can be taught and who can play.

All the physical talent in the world won't get you on The field if you can't be trusted to know your responsibilities.

Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn are perfect examples.

Brohm had all the numbers, Flynn showed he could be taught the pro game

In other words, nothing about actually going up and getting the ball.

He jumps a few less inches than Davante but is bigger, stronger, faster and smarter. I think the sky is the limit.

Don Driver was a 7th...he almost got shipped to Kansas City. 7th rounders aren't viewed as very valuable even when they do have value.

The OSR thing is exciting to me. Yes, there is a Clyde Gates on that list but there is also a Julio and Odell.

Janis could be more Gates than Beckham. That remains to be seen. I have said and will continue saying that Janis has a potential ceiling that is untouchable from Davante Adams. Davante can't and won't ever be 6'3...will never run in the 4.3's and likely will never be smarter than Janis. The only sure things Adams has over Janis is he's younger, and he has the potential to be stronger than JJ but that's very unlikely as Janis is very much stronger than Adams and is "an Olympian in the weight room" per MM.

Adams may have a better feel than Janis does and may have more WR natural ability but he in no way even comes close to comparing to what JJ possesses in the things you can't teach.

Janis for NFL MVP!

I still love the guy but if he's too dumb to play then he's too dumb. I hope he gets it. He has all the athleticism anyone could ever handle.

I know you all want JJ to succeed huge and will enjoy the accompanying u.u. horn tootin' that goes with his success. You can all tell me, then, that you're really happy he's succeeding. You can come late to the party, it won't be any less a party later. I'll just have had a better time longer than you. Like it's 1999, fellers.

More facts: Fastest WR combine times 2000-2014.
This list proves that a 40 time is not a critical characteristic of a successful NFL WR. There isn't one WR on this list that I'd want on my team [though the jury might still be out out on a few recently drafted guys like Cooks or Brown]
1. Dri Archer
2. Marquise Goodwin
3. Jacoby Ford
4. Triandos Luke
5. Darrius H Bey
6. Carlos Francis
7. Jerome Mathis
8. Brandon Cooks
9. Mike Wallace
10. R. Jay Soward
11. Chris Cole
12. Tavon Austin
13. Ryan Swope
14. Tim Carter
15. Chad Jackson
16. John Brown
17. Trindon Holliday
18. Johhnny Knox
19. Samie Parker
20. Yamon Figurs
21. Devin Aromashodu
22. Aaron Lockett
23. Javon Walker
24. DeSean Jackson
25. Steven Hill

Hmmm. I was surprised to see Devin Aromashodu on this list. Had no idea he was that fast.

I feel for Johnny Knox...he torched us a couple of times. Sad injury.

Javon Walker was one of the most exciting Packers players to come down the pike in a long time. Too bad about his injury, too. For all the luck we've had at WR, thinking about Walker and Murphy ... can't imagine how much better our WR play would've been had those two had full healthy careers.

Tavon Austin is one guy I wouldn't mind having on our team. DeSean Jackson is a headcase but the guy changes games. What an element he brings.

Most of that list had the misfortune of being drafted by the Raiders. Just run fast, baby!

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
