The Green Bay Packers are known as a Draft and Develop team, but that doesn’t mean that they always get it right. In fact, they tend to get it wrong a fair amount. Not as bad as some other teams, mind you, but they are not hitting 1.000. I have only been around since 1991,

Bj Sander rofl. Not only do you draft a punter in the 3rd round but you traded up to do it. To top it all off he couldn't even kick very well. That's just mind blowing.

A good example is Sherrod, he was a good pick, filled a need, but never got more than a handful of snaps. Bust. I don't think anyone should fault Ted for how it turned out, the pick at the time was a good one.

Alex Green: bad pick AND bust, came from a terrible offense(schematically), had no idea how to navigate an O-line, and we took him in the 3rd. He then proceeded to make Ryan Grant look like AP.

Justin Harrell kinda falls between these two, when healthy, he was a awesome in college, might have been a reach, I don't remember, but the guy just had the worst luck I've ever seen. So that's kinda on Ted, but not entirely. Shit happens (1st snap f the season for Harrel vs PHI and he tears his ACL)

As long as you have an asterisk category for the "shit happens" crowd like Sherrod I then don't care if they're titled busts, flops, bad pick or whatever. Not much you can do about Sherrod, as you alluded to, only with hindsight could we know he was a bad pick.

Harrell was regarded as a reach due in part to his health...a boom or bust pick at the time so I put him more in the "non asterisk" category.

I think they hoped he'd be more than just a screen specialist, but it's a bit of a gamble when you take a player who played against some bad WAC defenses and didn't carry a big workload.

In hindsight, blown knee or not, I don't think he would've succeeded. Don't think he had any skills but catch a screen pass...

The pick itsself wasn't even that good a pick. There just weren't many good receiving backs in that draft and I think that caused us to reach. Looking back, I wish we would've reached for Helu, rather than Green.

I feel like a lot of the guys on this list just didn't pan out. Can you really call a 6th round pick like Ricky Elmore a bust?

The one recent pick I miss on this list is Worthy. He checks all the boxes for a bust. Was projected as a last 1st rounder, dropped down into halfway the second. We traded up for him and gave up our 4th rounder. The media was raving about how this would strengthen our defensive line and fix a big hole immediately...

He then got nothing going, showing just few glimpses of that project 1st rounder and got traded to the Pats for a conditional 2015 pick... Which we didn't get, because he got waived in New England just three weeks later.

Now that's a real bust.

Now Elmore, that I agree with.
