LOL, quite true..."to argue w/ a fool proves there are two." Doris Smith

But, he is a Packer Brethren and ya gotta kinda feel sorry for a person who needs such attention or a linguistics lesson every now and then. LOL Ya cant convince someone that came to a belief through childish irrationality w/ rational argument; but, much of mine [and others] writing is about [what I think are interesting] historical facts and insights. Incorporating UDFAs in draft grades is interesting debate and the corollary Shields story is a good one about not only TT, but our next GM. And the Favre story and notion that Ted Thompson is 1000% more conservative than Ron Wolf, looks true on the surface; but discussion showing similarities is interesting.

Of course these discussions would have been more fruitful w/o purposeful sabotage.

To answer your earlier question, I don't play the powerball.

I do however play a little Keno now and then.

Have a couple sets If numbers that I do pretty good with.

Pm me if you want to try.

I would never wish anything to happen to 12 but I would be awfully curious to see what our master drafter and GM could do with this franchise if he was suddenly finished. I'm sure the thought of that is frightening to even his supposed most ardent supporters. Would you be okay if Rodgers was poof...done? Wouldn't you just trust Ted Thompson to get this ship righted? The sycos should rest easy if that should happen. We have the best GM in the league. šŸ˜

BTW, I don't need any attention. Your characterizations of me are interesting in how far off they are of "me". It is you who has this superior complex and that's fine... I enjoy that you think you're better through your outward expression. Now, inward may be a whole nother ballgame.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

its funny when year after year, Mike has to "simplify" and go back to fundamentals, and yet, we keep stocking our roster with guys who end up being mediocre at 2 positions instead of getting a good guy who fits one.

off the top of my head, ones that fail:

Barbre (OG/OT)
Moll (OG/OT)
Brad Jones (OLB/ILB)
Mike Neal (DE/OLB)
Carl Bradford (OLB/ILB)
BJ Raji (DE/NT)
Nick Perry (DE/OLB)
L. Guion (4.3DT/NT)
CJ Wilson (4.3/3.4)
Jarius Wynn (4.3/3.4)

ones that work:

Julius Peppers (OLB/DE)
Clay Matthwes (OLB/ILB)
Micah Hyde (CB/S)

Ted just made the odds of hitting on his 1st round pick less by picking a project. Now, not only do we have to see if this kid can transition to the NFL level, period...he has the extra task/burden of having to translate to the NFL at a different position. That's just another hurdle he has to overcome to be a productive member of the Packers. It is hard enough performing as a Ted Thompson defensive pick without the burden of having to switch positions.

For years, the Packers fan base moaned and groaned over the musical chairs and multiple position thinking of our OL. Finally, we settle on 5 guys and stop moving them all over the place and we have one of our better lines in memory. Why we want to go into Round 1 of the NFL draft with the mentality of taking a project to position switch is puzzling.

Bigbyfan...you got me smilin'...yup, a big risk. Maybe, he'll take a DE in R2 and try converting him to a LB like they did with Neal and Peppers. Ted Thompson always wants to be the smartest guy in the room. Just freaking draft a player who plays a position up high. Go have your fun time late in the draft and stop messing around where the blue chip players lurk.

It's only one pick but I have a sinking feeling that if he takes a defensive player in R2 this will go down as one of his worst drafts in Green Bay and that's saying something.

My life won't change if the Packers draft five Hall of Famers or seven busts. It's just entertainment, and watching whiny Packers fans around draft time entertains me. Not as much as the actual games, but it's all I have for now.

I don't know, 2-4 o line injuries per year (usually missing multiple games) for the last 5+ years might have something to do with linemen not playing at the position they're strongest. And of course this is all teds fault but when people don't get hurt and a gem like Lindsey comes in (also just a fluke) it's not Ted, it's luck.

Wow.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
