You are right, there is a formula. With the 32 picks though it is no guarantee that you will get a comp pick for your guy especially if he is on the lower end. Do you know if the picks by round are limited in any way? Only so many after each round for example or if 32 guys would all sign deals that qualified them for the highest round pick would they all get it or would the lower end ones get bumped down or would there just be no lower round picks?

We will need to wait to see how it finally turns out . 9 picks in the draft may either increase the teams draft possibilities or give Ted Thompson some trade bait . Compensatory picks may not be traded , but the regular picks could be used to gain a needed player and still have draft picks . Do you recall any draft trade deals Ted Thompson has made in the past, it may shine a light on weather Ted Thompson could be willing to make any deals.

Also might be tougher this year since the Packers and Patriots are only placed two spots away, unless some other trade is made first.

2006: Packers fans were demanding weapons for Favre, and they got pissed when Thompson could of drafted the most hyped WR in that draft class... Chad Jackson (who?)... instead Thompson traded the pick to the Patriots (who picked Jackson), as the Packers traded back and got some nobody WR from the MAC named Greg Jennings... and with their second Patriots pick, the Packers picked up OG/C Jason Spitz.

2009: Packers surprisingly trade up, using a 2nd round pick and two 3rd round pick to trade up to #26 spot to draft OLB Clay Matthews. Patriots got CB Darius Butler and WR Brandon Tate with two of those picks, and the third was traded to the Jags for two picks, one got WR Julian Edelman and the other was a 2nd round pick in 2010 (which they combined with other pick and traded up to the Raiders and got TE Rob Gronkowski).

2012: Packers traded up to get CB Casey Hayward, early on... and later traded up to get ILB Terrell Manning. The Patriots ended up getting DE Jake Bequette, CB Nate Ebner, CB Alfonzo Dennard, WR Jeremy Ebert)

2015: ____

Edit: In 2007 and 2008 the Packers also made draft day trades in the top two rounds, both trading down to get a 2nd round pick from the Jets. 2007: RB Brandon Jackson, 2008: WR Jordy Nelson (which was also the last time I think Ted Thompson had the #30 overall pick).

And in 2012, also traded up with the Eagles to get DE Jerel Worthy. And traded down in 2013 and still grabbed RB Eddie Lacy... in draft day trades in the top 2 rounds.

Mucky Tundra (1h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (1h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (1h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (2h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.

Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.

Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."

beast (17-Dec) : Despite what lies other might tell, Beast didn't hate the Winter Warnings, it felt refreshing to Beast for some reason.
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : whiteout uniforms in general are pretty lame and weak. NFL greed at it's worst
Martha Careful (17-Dec) : The Viking uniforms, the whiteout uniforms specifically absolutely suck

Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Okay I'm glad to know it's not just something happening to me lol
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Zero, did you copy the Packers uniforms from last night and white out the board?
