Does that mean I will have to start ignoring you too 😁

I'ts funny though I agree with much of Ketchman's philosophy I just don't care for the way he presents it. He just comes across as a real... Well let me put it this way. Remember the saying "if you can't say anything nice about someone don't say anything at all" Well this is what I have to say about Vic

Thanks to Ted, this team doesn't rebuild, it is just a constant cycle of reloading. Though I am developing a problem with Ted. Unless lightning strikes the same place about 3 or 4 times, this team is not going to get better without using FA more. Number of years ago, the draft could drastically improve the roster, but now all the draft is doing is trying to replace guys we drafted a few or number of years ago. With 22 positions between offense and defense, Even if every draft produced 3 starters at positions of need, it would take over 7 years to draft a full starting roster. After 3 or 4 years, those drafted guys are up for contacts and some moving on. Others leave because of age and play.

So now every year, we draft and hope the players end up filling a position of need and make the team better, but in most cases it is at best maintaining the status quo as players leave. Which at least for us the status quo has been pretty good. But of we really want to make a serious push at the SB, we need to improve the team where we can at the top of the depth chart, not the bottom.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Truth be told I read very few articles by any insiders or staff reporters or reporters in general because most of them are just speculation. I prefer to come here and get my fill of rumors, innuendos and inside scoops and then when something really does happen I'll read about the details somewhere and then move on. I don't need Vic to tell me that some fans just don't get it, I can figure that out on my own.

Ted does have an MO of leaving one position completely bare at times. However I think he'll stock us back up this year. If we don't at minimum come very close next year after pissing the SB away this year, there could very well be a revolt.

Anyway, I agree with most of you here. This rebuilding talk is crazy. I have to admit, with even high round rookie CBs usually not making that big an impact and a rather bad batch of FAs left at the position, I don't see how we're going to fix this.

I do know that we still have one of the most competetive teams and have the draft still coming up. A Packers speciality.

This is my guess of what is going to happen the next few weeks.

Ted Will sign one more weapon on offense, be it a veteran wr,te , or rb.
My guess is wr.

He will go heavy on defense in the draft, and Will rely on the guys who have been in the system to step up and shore up the holes left by FA losses.
Like it or not, today's NFL is all about scoring points.

Something The Packers can do.

There Will be a lot of stat whoring, early as the defense Will need time to gell.

Those of you who think the loss of Williams and Hawk from The defense won't have an effect are going to find out just how important it is to have players who can show up every week and grind out a season.

Both those guys played through injuries, only missing 4 games total in their careers.

Time waits for no player, their time was up in Green Bay, hopefully their replacements are ready to step up.

I'm sure GMs are looking to to upgrade every weak position every year and it isn't their intention to leave any position bare. You are right though, sometimes affordable talent they deem worthy is just not there in a given year so the positions are not able to be improved upon. We as fans see that as ignoring the situation but we have no idea what attention was given to the problem.

Take the QB situation this year. Any team with a shitty QB might as well have stood pat this FA period because there was no one worth bringing in for a look see. You had a young guy on your roster that you liked last year why not see if he has what it takes this year. Why spend 2-3-4-5 million bringing in a washed up has been or an overhyped never will be when you already have one or two of them on your roster (I'm looking at you Cleveland) . Stick with what you got and see what the draft might have to offer.

I agree that Ted will go heavy on defense. He's been doing that quite a bit in these drafts. Hasn't hit on a Clay Matthews in awhile. Dix could get to that level. Burnett too maybe.

About 30 teams wish they could have our status quo!

"A number of years ago, the draft could drastically improve the roster". A draft can drastically improve the roster when the roster sucks. Be thankful this is not the case.

"Now all the draft is doing is trying to replace guys we drafted a few or number of years ago." Would you rather be the Browns and draft the same position every year because you screw it up? The draft is supposed to replace your older players. If it is replacing your younger players, you had bad drafts recently.

Football is a game of replacement. If you replace your players with young, cheap players, a team can stay relevant for years, If you replace them with older, expensive players, you will reach a point of rebuilding. Rebuilding sucks. Lots of losses. Many in Packer Nation would not survive based on the whining present in great years like 2014.

Using FA more means less chance to develop players like Tramon and Shields. I wonder if any team in the league had a pair of starting corners that weren't drafted. If you mean Ted Thompson needs to sign more UDFA like Shields and Tramon, I guess I am good with that!

Mucky Tundra (1h) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)

Zero2Cool (1h) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in

beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)

dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. šŸ˜‚
