Well, I never stated that throwing incompletions makes a quarterback more accurate, thats something you're reading into there.
My point was that accuracy or completion percentage alone is a poor metric for overall performance or efficiency, you don't have enough information with that statistic alone to come to concrete conclusions.
A QB who throws more incompletions but less interceptions and more touchdowns because he puts the ball in a position where its either going to be caught by his receiver or nobody is likely to be the most productive player, regardless of what his completion percentage ends up being. If you can boil this down to some sort of statistic I would love to see it, but its likely too subjective to accurately quantify, eg, what is an incompletion due to a poor throw and what is an incompletion due to a "safe" throw. Without knowing the play/route/etc I don't see how anyone accurately makes that judgement.
