The daughter wasn't made to affirm anything. Look up the definition of "affirm"
If you look at the worksheet (available if you google it), everything is based on historical writings and given a premise to be taught in school.
None of the materials in question are religiously indoctrinating in nature and the lesson is a part of a larger world history curriculum.
From a statement issued by Charles County Public Schools, the district in which La Plata High School is located:
"Other religions are introduced when they influence or impact a particular historical era or geographic region. For example, when reviewing the Renaissance and Reformation, students study the concepts and role of Christianity. When learning about the development of China and India, students examine Hinduism and Buddhism."

Our children need, no deserve, to be educated and informed about all aspects of the world in which they live.
Hiding your head in the ground, ignoring what is around you is not the way to live and I will never keep my children in the dark about anything, good or bad.
I am chosen by many but taken by no one.
