I remember saying " what" really loudly? I was wondering who this guy was, and then I looked up his stats at Kansas St. Then I had optimism.

You can't really tell how a draft really went until 3-4 years down the road.

With the team's improvement, it's harder for rookies to make a splash, so that factors in as well.

i remember when the pack drafted freeman in '95 (i was about 9 years old at the time). It was funny; because at the time my dad screamed, " who the hell is antonio freeman?!" boy was he mad. Needless to say, it turned out just fine... and whenever Freeman mad a big play, I'd yell "who the hell is antonio freeman?!" and my dad would just smile and glance at me knowingly.

i think you guys know where im going with this.

You're not the only one.... When the Packers were up to pick, I was PRAYING we would take Brandon Flowers(a corner who is fit for our system, physical & press coverage) When they announced Jordy Nelson, I was like WHO?!?!

I think we all fall into that same category or getting upset even though we don't watch all of the game film for all of the college players. We don't attend the combines. We don't sit down and interview the prospective players and yet WE get mad if GB doesn't draft hte person we think they should draft.

Thats because only the "big name" guys get discussed, so most of us (like me) have no idea who some of these kids are. Like you said, the people who make their living on this know alot more about these guys then we do.

Well, here's how I'm seeing it:

Nelson - will contribute immediately. The only reason he hasn't broken the top 4 is our top 4 is as sturdy as they come. I don't think any team has our depth at WR. He'll get some KR duties though, which he should be good at.

Brohm - ?

Lee - Will contribute later. Looks like a good prospect.

Finley - Will make the team and when he gets better at blocking down the road, imagine Lee and Finley as our TEs. Lee's solid, and having a pass catching TE opposite Lee will give opposing Ds nightmares.

Thompson - Not enough to judge yet.

Sitton - We might even see him start a few games in his first season.

Giacomini - Supposed to be our T of the future. Looks like a good prospect.

Flynn - May prove to be better than Brohm, and we picked him in the 7th round.

I think the draft definitely helped make the team better.

Youve got to say Lee is a pass catching tight end, hes a better pass catcher than he is a blocker although he is solid there as well... I do agree they will be a sick combo in a year or two.

I like Giacomini (sp) alot... I think he has the right mindset, just needs a year or two to really adjust to pro D lineman, as he faced maybe 2 or 3 throughout his college college career and now its an everyday occurance.

I also think Thompson, with a year or two(getting old yet) can be a difference maker...

And (P) Lee is very physical and I like him alot...

Didn't Brohm set all kinds of passing records in college? I don't know what more you could've expected him to prove. He wasn't about to win a national championship playing for Louisville. And I don't get the Ryan Leaf comparison. Leaf had a lousy attitude. I'm not hearing anything like that about Brohm. Hopefully he just needs more time.

What worries me is that I haven't seen him make a really good NFL play yet. Rodgers struggled as a rookie too, but even then I thought he put some zip on the ball and he made some nice scrambles. I'm hoping that the problem with Brohm is that he's just trying too hard not to screw up. It's like he's not trusting his instincts.

It seems like Brohm is trying too hard. It is not easy to come out of college and be tabbed as the #2 QB in the NFL. Flynn does not has as much pressure on him since he was picked in the 7th round and Brohm in the 2nd. I do not have any stats for it but I would think of all the 7th round picks taken in the past 15-20 years only 20-25% made their original team. Even fewer worked their way into being a starter for the team that drafted them.
There have been several instances in the NFL were a lower pick had a better 1st season.
We also need to remember that he had some problems with his OL. He was sacked 4 times. The defense had pressure on him all the time.
Some of this is due to his indecisions, some of it is due to receivers being covered and some of it due to the OL.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
