OK. So, I'll wait until after the Patriots game to make that call... [boxing]

They played 3 teams that now (over half way through the year) that have winning records. They lost all three times.

Zero, I love how you can simultaneously run threads in which one ranks the packers as the best team in football and the other labels them pretenders. [duh]

Fact is, only ONE team and its fans will be happy at the end of the season.
So much can happen between now and the end of the season. Injuries and so on.
So the guys that seem to be "elite" right now might not be at the end of the year.
The Packers of 2010, who really thought they would go all the way?
Everything can change and it COULD happen again!

Do you think the Packers are contenders? I lean a little more towards pretenders right now than I would contenders. It's not a huge sway or nothing, if I have to put a value on it. 60 pretenders 40 contenders.

Right now, here are the playoff standings.
1 Arizona 8 1
2 Detroit 7 2
3 Philadelphia 7 2
4 New Orleans 4 5
5 Dallas 7 3
6 Seattle 6 3
7 Green Bay 6 3
8 San Francisco 5 4
9 Minnesota 4 5
10 Carolina 3 6 1
11 Atlanta 3 6
13 St. Louis 3 6
14 NY Giants 3 6
15 Washington 3 6
16 Tampa Bay 1 8

The 49ers and Seahawks are most likely going to make it. 49ers are gonna get some guys back soon and go on a run. That leaves winning the division against the Lions or the last wild card spot.

We have a lot of games to play yet so most anything can still happen. Hell, Packers could run the table and get home field throughout. That's fine, as long as 49ers or Giants don't show up.

Pats fans were probably calling them Pretenders after the KC game.

Broncos fans we probably calling them Pretenders after the Pats game.

Seahawks fans were probably calling them Pretenders after the Rams game.

All the contenders have had let downs or will have let downs as having all the pieces of the puzzle just doesn't happen in the salary cap era.

Our Defense is not where it should be, but we stopped an excellent RB this past week. Can we do it against Philly and their talent? I don't know, but I think at home we can run the table which should mean playoffs. After that we cast our lot and hope that Mike and Dom have our guys prepared.

We need to get the running game going. That is my only concern with the Offense with the weather declining over the next few weeks.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.

dfosterf (11-Jun) : There will be a mini camp practice Thursday.
