Tonight after the game I believe Coach McCarthy had one of his best press conferences. With the media pressing him to make some headlines, Mike went the other way. He didn't make any lofty, crazy Rex Ryan predictions. He made it about the players and about the evaluation. He reminded us that the NFL is full of great teams made up of great players all with something to prove and new plans to unveil. He showed that he never loses perspective of what each moment is about. He has grown a lot as a coach in the past 3-4 years. He may not be THE best head coach in the league but he is definitely top 3 in my opinion.

What started as a well-intentioned thread is sort of devolving.

I agree with Darkane. If you want to critique coaching decisions and philosophy, fine. But as a coach and person he definitely appears to get it and is a great fit for what the Packers are about. Blue collar, not flashy, loyal arguably to a fault, yet still capable and willing to evolve. You can't have an ego and be willing to travel to Texas A&M with your staff and ask how to defend the read option. He saw how much a lack of a run game hurt this team despite the smokescreen success from the 2011 season and adapted.

As a whole, a good man and good coach for this organization.
