The Packers felt comfortable letting James Jones go in free agency because they thought Jarrett Boykin was ready to move up the depth chart after a strong showing while filling in for the injured Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson at different points in 2013. Nothing that they've seen this spring or summer has changed that...

Good news to hear about Boykin, even though it is what I would expect McCarthy to say at this time of year regardless.

I still feel that GB is going to feel effects from not having either Jennings or Jones this year. Regardless of how good Boykins now is, there's still a drop off at number 4. And in this offense, that is more significant than with other teams. Especially since our "best" option at TE is now R Rodgers.

well deserved, ive been a big fan of jb for awhile and he is def the # 3 guy, adams will get some catches as well but jb is a great 3rd guy !!

This along with two members of our secondary saying JB is the hardest WR to cover in practice and with how good he was last year makes me feel like he's legit. I don't know if he'll reach the production he had last year though because I think Jordy, Lacy, and Cobb are going to all take a ton of the action but he should be able to at least get close.

What? The lowest pass attempts in the league last year was 417. There's no way in hell Lacy is getting over 400 carries, at least I hope not.

I guess you haven't been watching what has been going on.

Packers goal is to run 75 plays a game, plenty of balls to go around.

I'm sure you will be calling it stat-whoring, I'm gonna call it good, solid game planning.
