I'm conspicuous by my omission. Thank you, Buck. I'm sure you just forgot me. [grin1]

The inevitable is coming... just wait a few months and we can lather rinse repeat. We'll be one and done, if that, and Ted Thompson will still be the greatest GM since sliced bread.

I do enjoy when asked ...If not Ted Thompson then who? That's really pretty easy. The person is nameless...you're looking for types. IE: When trying to draft a QB you look for certain traits. The same applies to a GM. I would prefer a GM who is willing to go for it more than our guy is. Our guy knows divisional titles titillate and placate the masses. He's gold. He can ride into the sunset. There is no pressure on him to perform. He's Rocky after beating Creed. Give me a guy with some hunger who is lusting after a SuperBowl ring. Do you honestly get the feeling that even your own self is hungry? The whole of Packer nation has been in a stupor after the win in 2010. There hasn't been that urgency in Ted Thompson on down through the team itself. That is when a shakeup is required. We choose to keep rolling with a fat dumb and happy bunch. What is the definition of insanity, again?

Soon, we'll experience a down period and the pro Ted Thompson crowd will holler and scream about the good old days and talk of them fondly saying...See, we sure miss TT...he got us to the playoffs. Those with eyes a little wider open will realize the opportunity missed.

I say the 2014 Packers are the best team Teddy has put on the field since he got here. If 18 of them aren't on the sidelines by the time the playoffs come around there will be some around here barfing crow.

Sorry Miller this is the NFL. There is not a large gap between great and pretty good. If Hayward plays at 85% he will be worse than Bush and the WRs will eat him alive.

But he was so good his rookie year that we statistically played like a top 1-3 CB in the NFL!
I'm not saying he will return to that level, but if he is anywhere close, he will be the best nickelback in football, which is what his role is expected to be this season.

The anti Ted Thompson crowd knows that the collapse comes once Aaron suffers from the dreaded "diminishing skills" syndrome.

Our DL has never been worse in TT's tenure. Peppers is NOT a linebacker... I'm not sure our LB's are the best they've been. The secondary certainly is nowhere near the best it's been. Our TE position is the worst it's been in his tenure. The OL might be the best it's been. RB is the best it's been. WR is not the best it's been.

I'm not understanding why this is TT's best team? The OL and RB's are the only position groups that are the best they've been. The D looks pretty dreadful.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

You fill holes in free agency and draft best player available. We do not fill holes in free agency under Ted. I think he was and is wrong. I think our coach is under-rated because he has to work with what he has.

I believe the Denver Broncos were mentioned earlier in this thread... I find it very interesting a team like Denver who was so close to winning it all gave far more effort to get better than the Packers under Ted Thompson ever have. We get embarrassed by CK7 and do NOTHING to get better but draft Datone Jones? Meanwhile, in Denver, their team gets to the show and their GM is pissed they didn't win it and ain't going to settle for 2nd best. Foot goes full bore on the gas pedal to win a championship. There is nothing remotely comparable in Green Bay.

Do you think the fans in Denver are happy winning divisional championships? I can tell you because I lived there...they aren't.

Going for it all is why you play the game.

What are the odds we hit on a 3rd QB after Rodgers is done?

We could easily be the Cleveland Browns, then. That is why I wish to see us go for it more while the gettin' is good. It may be slim pickins soon enough.
