I for one prefer to keep the future in mind. Aaron Rodgers has at least 6 good years left barring injury, in my opinion.

Agree,

Playoff contenders every year, and just like 2010, you get in and anything can happen.

I guess the either or was not clear. Throw all the chips on the table now salary cap wise, or stay the course and have faith?

The subject line is flawed...

There is no "success" minus the SuperBowl...

Winning divisional championships and getting beat in Round 1 is FAILURE...not success.

With the sheer amount of luck that goes into a SB winning season (lack of injuries for packers usually) I can't imagine risking the future just to hope the dice roll your way. Rather have sustained success over 5-6 years and hope you catch fire once in the playoffs.

Exactly German. We have dominated the division for years. I know the one year we did not win the division, we won the superbowl but thats semantics. Get in get lucky. Best way to get in is to??? WIN YOUR DIVISION.

The best way to win a SuperBowl is to try and actually win a SB not just hope to get lucky because you have the best QB in the league.

Las Vegas was built on the mentality expressed in your post.

Not sure how you justify the fact that playing the game of football is about going all out. Being sold out to win...but off the field we're just supposed to play it safe. Where is the passion for greatness from this organization? Where is it from the fans? The mentality expressed here has little to do with what sports are all about. Let's be good because going for great might set us back? I can't relate to you.

You do whatever gives you the highest expected number of titles over the useful life of any decision. Whether that's going all in or taking a more conservative route depends on the specific circumstances; but you always maximize expected value.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
