Yeah dudes as long as we win the division and they pack to go home in the end. That is all that freaking matters! GO PACK GO!

I think Zero is right on, and I think Ironman is right on. It could prove a lot to Brett, in his mind. But it doesn't mean a thing. What Brett doesn't understand is that this whole thing is bigger than he is. When he was playing for the Packers and winning us games, I, and many many other Packer fans, happily looked the other way when it became clear that the world, and the Packers, completely revolved around him. Now that he's not a Packer anymore, I am sick of dealing with it. So yeah, a monster game will surely prove to Favre that he was "right". But the world just doesn't revolve around him. He's like the hot girl at a party who completely ignores everyone but throws a hissy fit when people start to ignore her. "What is wrong with everybody?!?!... Don't they know I'm HOT!!!"

I guess I didn't make myself clear? I'm not talking about a season, I'm talking about the game's against the Packers. If its seen as the running game beating the Packers, what has Brett proved?

That's exactly what I said. AP does all the work, he throws 20 passes with 4 TDs. To everyone else, Favre beat us.

If Brett throws for 400 yards and 6 td passes against the Packers and wins, it proves nothing.

If the Packers win, and Brett throws 5 interceptions, it proves nothing.

I'm not worried about beating Brett Favre; I just want to beat the Vikings.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

I disagree. I think if Brett were to throw 400 and toss 6 TD's it would prove to him that he was right and Ted was wrong.

Does it prove anything to me or you? Not really. I'm willing to bet all we care about is if we WIN the Super Bowl, not a pair of regular season games and the stats.

I disagree with you Zero. I'm confident that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy still knew Brett Favre could play, especially sometimes. That's the thing that frustrates me about this whole ordeal. I know that they still thought Brett was capable of playing and even winning some games. I think the decision was based on the fact that he retired, and the franchise moved on. It was the better decision for the long term of the franchise. Install your new quarterback of the future, let him go through some growing pains, and you potentially have a good to great quarterback for the next 10+ years. You don't have to deal with the media distractions, you have a teammate who hangs out and does lots of things with his team mates, and hopefully, a bonded, cohesive team. I agree with the decision and am glad it happened.

But once again, I really don't think anyone thought Brett Favre was totally washed up when he was traded. I just believe the front office didn't think the Packers were going to win another Super Bowl with Brett, so they moved onto the next era to attempt to win another super bowl.

I agree with most the posters here. Brett beating the Packers really proves nothing. The Vikings are a very solid team from bottom to top and could very well beat the Packers without Brett. It doesn't prove anything. Sorry Brett.

What the hell are you disagreeing with? I have NEVER said that Ted and Mike did NOT think Brett had it in him. In fact I've said the complete opposite several times. Both Mike and Ted said that Brett makes the Packers better. However, when Mike spoke with Brett, Mike said Brett was not in the proper mindset to be the Packers QB. Brett shortly after said there are things he should "probably" be able to get past, but can't.

Don't put those words on me man, that's wrong and not accurate at all.

Brett is the one who thinks that Ted thinks he doesn't have it anymore, not me. At least, that's what Brett has indicated.
