Wow......FINALLY!!!
I don't know how much of the D problems will be solved by that, but i don't think it will hurt.
I HOPE they get someone that can put some imagination into our D play.

I agree with this. I'm not opposed to the firing, because i think they can do better, but I also don't think Sanders was dragging down the defense or anything like that. I would've expected the defense to show substantial improvement next year with or without Sanders. Now, when (if) the defense does improve, much of that improvement will be attributed to the new DC, even if not necessarily justified. At any rate, it's a nice situation for a new DC to jump into. Plenty of talent and flexibility to work with.

IMO a different DC cannot do anything but help.

Mission accomplished!

I feel bad for Sanders, because it's hard to rejoice in someone being fired, but godamn if I'm not happy about it. Now TT, just draft us some line help and we are back in this thing!

I'd like to see us go in the direction of hiring a former head coach. Mike Nolan, Jim Haslett, and Romeo Crennel all would be viable candidates in my book.

While I think all of those guys are competent DCs, I'd cross Crennel and Nolan off the list on grounds that they run a 3-4. This defense needs tweeks here and there, not a drastic overhaul in scheme. I would be open to Haslett though.

Wow, Crennel has some experience as a ST coach. We could try and talk him into that....but I doubt he'd want to do that.

I wouldn't mind having Mike Nolan as our DC, either.

This is mostly bad news, imo. This means we have some of the trouble that we great thinkers in here are suspicious of.

I say go after Nolan as fast as they can, unless they have something else better in mind.

I say stay away from Nolan, and Crennel. not proven winners and there defenses were hardly tough to beat as head coaches. Crennel and Weis both rode Belicheats coattails.... I think Moss will get the job, but im really not sure hes the best option.

Think outside the box. bring in someone who has a fresh scheme and knows how to implement it. No more reruns or has beens...we need fresh blood. Ted and Mike arent stupid and they will find the right guy... this much i believe.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason

Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
