As I mentioned elsewhere it was tough to judge in the weather but here's a few things I saw from Saturday's game

1) Tolzien can hit his targets
2) Starks looks fast
3) The O-Line and WR all did a good job of staying on their blocks
4) Our secondary looked a lot less lost than last year.
5) I know it was raining like all hell but CATCH THE DAMNED KICK

I like the new extra point thing, I hope they eventually go with it

I like the 2 point conversion. I also think the XP is way too automatic and like that they've put it back to create more drama. 7 would no longer be guaranteed hence creating more 2 point opportunities which I enjoy. Those 2 point plays can be quite dramatic.

What I liked was James Starks tearing it up. Tretter not being a liability. Harper and Dorsey looking the part of Packers WR's. Rajion Neal looking like a UDFA steal (anyone remember Arian Foster?). Scott Tolzien's arm looking lively. Josh Boyd getting push. Jumal Rolle making two outstanding plays. We had some decent pressure last night. Failed to wrap up and make the play on the Titans best play of the evening. Harris also looks to have the same burst he did prior to the injury. Looked good on the opening kick return. That kid is unique. Our RB situation is so much different than it was heading into last off-season. A strength now.

A very disappointing night with the weather being what it was. An almost wasted evaluation giving us only two more legit ops before we have to slash to 75. It's a bit unfair to the fringe guys that they got cheated out of trying to stand out. Those who did just might be players. Rolle, Neal and Tolzien have to feel awfully good about themselves today.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Peppers hopefully is taking it easy for preseason, because he kinda sucked there, and had a pretty funny whiff on the 2nd play.

Dix made some very good tackles, driving back and tackling through a blocker once.

Brad Jones fucked up pretty bad to allow the Shonn Greene TD.

Harper sucks and needs to be cut. (Wide open TD drop, 3rd down drop, among others.)

RBs looked good. (Depending on O line)

QBs diddnt give the WRs many opportunities.

Tough to fully blame the QBs due to the weather and the OL that Rettig was behind (the 1st and 2nd string OL looked good tho). I think Tolzien should get the majority of the QB snaps from here on out. We know what Flynn is, give Tolzien his shot and let him sink or swim.

I would also add that it was a good test for Tretter with the weather and it being his first game action and he seemed to pass.

I don't like what Roger Goodell has offered up for rule changes, specifically on the defense, but this one here actually makes sense. We have specialists kicking the ball now whereas many decades ago it was "hey can you kick?". The game has vastly changed from when the placement of the extra point was established.

The first-team o-line was nasty. We haven't seen that in along time.

Personally I've never been a fan of having extra points plays in the first place... I've thought they just give the team 7 if they score a TD and be done with it... yes kickers are important but they shouldn't have any part in touchdowns... to me it just seems screwed up that a team can worked their butts off to get into the end zone just to have one of the guys that barely sees the field to screw up and not get all 7 points. To me that's up there with the hardest way to score (getting a Safety) is worth the least about of points (2).... how screwed up is that? Yes you get the ball back, but it'd be so much smarter if you gave them 4 or more points (preferred more) and then let hem kick it off, same way a touch down would be.

Anyways my thoughts are... I thought RB Neal could be the RB draft steal, of this year's draft and I was surprised he wasn't drafted. I think he has a shot (though slim for now) of making the Packers 53 man roster).

Also to my surprise it seems like Quarless might be the #3 TE.

Flynn and Tolzien is shaping up to be a very interesting battle.

Very impressed with the OL (until the very end).

I didn't like watching the second half of the ILBers depth (or lack there of).

Need to watch/follow the defense chances more... was a bit hard with the Titans guys talking on and on about mainly only the Titans guys... maybe I should of muted it.

Weather wasn't that great in this game, team never got into a groove. I'm sure the kid will groom up to be better then you expect. I don't think he sucks, I don't think his good either "a lot of work to be put in" well but for whatever the reason is I see something in him. I ain't ready to part ways with him yet that's all I'm saying.

Anyone else see some light at the end of the tunnel for this kid or it's only me?
