My illegal wars since WWII. I am missing parts of my body that I would like to have. I am missing friends I would like to have. I am missing very disgruntled former wives and our children I would like to have. My body usually gets over it, as do the wives, perhaps not the kids, but I regret very little. I served with honor to my country and where I was at, and so did my contemporaries and subordinates. My memories are full of very impressise people I would have not seen in another circumstance. Most do not have that gift.

Some people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem.

Ronald Reagan

This Marine doesn't have that problem.

Do you think you would have gone? The Khmer Rouge had killed several milliion at that point in time. These were dead men unless we acted... again- kids were running the show, kids that had already killed all the adults.

In that interim between my ass getting shot and going to tbs, the Marines sent me to college. My GCT (it's a military kind of IQ thing) got me sent to Dartmouth college. I went there with 6 sailors in that program. 3 of those and I graduated.

Those guys at Dartmouth were rich assholes. It's amazing I didn't kill someone there, but I was respected, and frankly, many were afraid of me. I did not tolerate rich-guy-assholeism. I was a Marine Staff Sergeant, at the time, to those in the Corps :)

My point being is that when I did go to TBS the OCS had already "Washed out" the rich kid assholes. I didn't go to the OCS because at that time "mustangs" like myself were exempt. (Mustang is former enlisted to be officer)

Here's my point. I have interracted with hundreds of Marine Corps Officers. Many of them are complete pricks. I can only reflect upon one being incompetent, and he was a RIO (Radar intercept Officer) a/k/a GIB (Guy in Back) One. That's a pretty good track record from a cynic and combat vet of too many places.

MOST were rich, in the classical sense. They came from good families. What should amaze is that they opted to serve. How would you know how to judge? I can't, and I served with these people. They amazed me.

Whining about gas cans and light bulbs is intellectual? None of you impresses me, just a generation of self indulgent dipshits that complain about the world you fucked up. Live with it, and the criticism from the generations you sold into debt slavery to feed your spoiled lives.

Oh but thanks for defending our freedoms in all your illegal wars since WWII.

It's all about the bees. We don't have enough sub-topics to get our business discussed in the "proper" forums, so we must get it done where we can. imo

Well speaking of bees I had a great raspberry harvest this year. Someone told me bees are great for raspberries. That may be so but I sure don't see the honey bees like I use to. I am usually out there picking between 6 and 7 am so maybe the bees are not active yet.

Fuck all the damn bees. I got stung once a long time ago. Since then I go after 'em where the damn things live. Raid is a start; I don't know, can you still use DDT? Or have God damned Obama and the environmentalist wackos completely outlawed it. Actually, those oversize fly swats are nice too - kind of a personal touch in giving the bastards what they deserve. I forget, were we talking about bees? Or Muslims? Or just plain old Obamaphiles? killemallalGsio !!!

And in keeping with the original theme, those bug zappers work GREAT on God damned bees too.

Go try to buy a 100 watt light bulb. Go try to buy a gas can. You think that's me and Texas? Go try and buy reality.

The last time we had a yard sale some lawncare dude bought 4 older cans from us and I do recall him saying something about gas cans you can actually get gas out of but it just kind of went over my head at the time. It's been a while since I bought a gas can but next time I'm in a hardware store I'm going to check them out.

Many have lost electrical power for one reason or another. I lost it for 10 days once following a Hurricane. Not only does all refrigerated & frozen food begin to go bad, but ice takes on a whole new importance. Batteries become a closely guarded and a use restricted commodity . Canned goods taste better somehow and some things we normally take for granted find new value. Gasoline is also more precious as the pumps need electricity as well. I read a book I had been meaning to read, no TV you see. The radio becomes the link to world. Stores that need electricity to process checkout are closed. Cars pause at intersections where the traffic lights don't work. After a few days, that friend with a generator becomes someone you want to go visit. When the power does finally come back on , we have gained a new appreciation for electricity that we should have had all along. 😄
