Thinking about it most ninjas I've seen, are very quick and agile. They weren't all the fast in straight line speed which is partly why they had to jump around more often than others to avoid things and Adams also has the jumping skills. So I think it might still fit.

True, but normally when I've seen someone try to catch a ninja from behind they either attack the person trying to catch them knocking them away, jump away or hide quickly where the person following can't see them / find them...
