Oh, I don't know either. No one ever really knows at this stage, but I like our chances a hell of a lot better getting this highly rated Safety at 21, and I know you were in favor of getting the top players available as well.

We need this kind of top level talent. I'm certain Ted would have traded out had CHI taken Ha Ha. Can't believe he dropped that far, right into Ted's lap.

How does CHI take Fuller who is only 6-0 tall, who suffered a senior season ending sports hernia 3 games into the season that high?

I still cannot believe our good fortune here in getting CD at 21.

Tony Mandarich was in the top two of EVERYONE's big board. How'd that turn out?

Terrell Buckley was considered first round quality by almost everyone. Was he worth a first round?

Lots of people had Ahmad Carroll in the first round? Was he?

I could care less where people have him on the board. I don't think he was first round quality.

Nick Collins was not drafted in round 1. Does Dix offer more than Collins?

Bah.

Nick Collins was a potential pick with high ceiling.
Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix is more solid out of college.

I see it like this.
Collins was a C grade with potential to A.
Clinton-Dix is a B grade with potential to B+.

Also, Nick Collins didn't reach his potential until his fourth season. I see Ha'Sean reaching his potential a year or two sooner.

That game turned you into a lab rat hitting the button for another pellet.... Sometimes it isn't smart to trade down just to get more picks.

Personally, I would have liked to see GB get that trade rather than Philly. I don't think Dix will become a player like Nick Collins. He may well become very good, but I don't think he is special enough that he is worth more than a different 1st rounder and a 3rd that could be used to move up and get an extra 2nd. I would love to be able to go into tonight with the ability to move up and come away with an additional 2nd rounder or two.

The real question is, did the offer get made to Ted. Every spot is worth more. I'm sure Cleveland tested the waters with GB, but they would be foolish to move up any spot further than what they needed to. I'm thinking that Ted never actually had an offer, or I think he would have taken it.

We already had two thirds, and the probability of getting an impact player in the 3rd round is really lower compared to the 1st round.
Per-Draft there are about 2-4 probowlers taken in the 3rd round against 10-15 in the first round.

My guess is that Thompson took Cleveland's offer on hold and tried to pack two thirds and the second for another first round pick but he couldn't get the deal done so he just stayed put.

We don't need Clinton-Dix to be Collins; we just need him to be good to have the secondary take a huge step forward.
