Well it seems this section of the forum has become pretty much useless, at least for what it was intended and I'll be the first to ask Zero to shut it down and leave it up strictly for posting some stuff as a tribute to the man as you had intended it. I would like to make a final post though to sum up all my feelings and then I feel no need to get involved in these silly arguments again.
Living up here in Canada I use to only get NFL games on a fuzzy Fox station back when they carried some Monday Night Football. In the early 90's we got a full slate a games up here and I was instantly drawn in by the Packers and Brett Favre. HE was the reason football became my passion. Through the years no one has brought me more joy and pain then Brett. After last year I was sure he'd come back but when he retired I was happy he left with all his pride and followers with him although I will admit he did end on a sour note as I have no excuse for his final int but I didn't care as a don't believe one throw ruins his legacy.
When he decided to return I wasn't keen on the idea and it made me sick what went on between the two sides as I still say they're both to blame but I had no problems with the Packer brass wanting to go with Rodgers as it was time to move on. I'll admit I followed Brett to the Jets and watched almost every game but of course my loyalties still stuck with the Packers. I was happy to see him have a great year but to see him tank (yes I said tank) the last month was like watching your old dog slowly die. Injury may be the reason for some poor play but then I believe for the better of the team he should of sat down.
Looking at things now all I wish for him is that he walks away with grace and I think most people like me will still look fondly on him and his career. I for one would love to be there when his name goes in the ring of honour and 5 years later when he's sure to enter the HOF. Maybe it's my carefree nature but I hold no bad will against anyone. Not Brett not Packer management and not even any passionate fans cause a lot of things are said out of passion which in some ways I can respect.
So all I say is cheers to you Brett and I wish you walk away with your health and find the second half of you life even more fulfilling then the first. You will forever be my hero

The Brett Favre section has NEVER been for ANYTHING but to honor the career of Brett Favre.

It's not my fault some assholes think its a place to rip/excuse the career of him.

Nice post Cdn...Favre is also the reason I am a Pack fan...I was born in wisc. but i grew up in Texas, around 8 i started enjoying football and watching Brett.....now i am a huge pack fan and am still waiting to go to my first game..without Brett, i dont know if i would even have ever started watching football.

Cdn - Nice post. I'm probably a bit older than you and all I knew being a Packers fan was losing. heard the stories of the greats in the Lombardi era but it was hard for me to love Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg because all I remember of them was them coaching losing teams.

Then Brett Favre comes along and we're doing something that we only did twice in my life before him - win games. We had '82 and '89 but that was it.

I'll always see him as a Packer, even when I was watching the Jets games. I simply wanted him to throw TD passes to pad his stats, and hopefully win a lot of games to get us a 2nd round draft pick (it didn't happen though).

Excellent post, cdn. I have to admit that I am more bitter than you, and I found it impossible to stick up for Favre this season. I'm not proud of that fact. It's just the way I felt.

Like you, I was caught unaware by the change in the Brett Favre forum. Look back, and you will see plenty of threads that were critical of Favre, some of them begun by Zero himself. But if the NFL News forum is the place to discuss Favre, I'm glad to discuss him here. He is still a part of us, even if he's no longer a Packer. I'm hoping I can feel better about him in a few years when he is inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame.

Zero2Cool (25m) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (1h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (15h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (15h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
