Hey, I just thought it might be kind of cool to post our collective resources for gathering info on this upcoming Packers draft.

While this is not specific to GB, I wanted to share this particular link, as it shows a pretty remarkable success rate in finding 5 year starters at 3 of our greatest positions of need, Safety, Inside Linebacker and Tight End.

Draft Probabilities by Position
https://sports.yahoo.com/news/draft-probabilities-position-160112669--nfl.html

I just found that information really interesting, and I know we all have our own links we reference to gather info as we get closer to the draft. Thought his might be a good time to pool some of that stuff together.

Here is a good listing/ranking of the top 300 players:
http://www.gbnreport.com/top100.html

Here is another with the top 256:
http://www.draftcountdown.com/Rankings/TOP.php

Ourlads does a great positional ranking:
http://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-nfl-prospect-rankings-by-position/

Another from Draft Insider top 150 and positional:
http://www.draftinsider.net/rankings

Rotoworld has some decent info:
http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/cfb/nfl-draft

I like Draftek for ease of use in finding players in mocks through all 7 rounds with bios, and they have decent positional rankings:
http://www.drafttek.com/2014-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp

All this stuff needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but I like getting as much info as possible, even if some of it is more or less reliable.

Anyone who wants to spend way too much time looking at mock drafts can use this database. http://walterfootball.com/draftdata.php

IIRC, this is based off what the Cowboys used under Jimmy Johnson.

joe 7 Mucky, I love using both of those in geeking out draft scenarios. Walters is pretty good.

Here is another interesting bit of info on projecting success and how it correlates to draft slot, #, round:

We need to keep that 21 pick I think... I want a big impact player added to our O or D if at all possible. A bunch of them would be nice if the draft falls Ted's way.

Of course, you can get an extra pick in the 47-73 range by trading down in the 1st round or trading up from the 3rd round. Probably no GM has had as good a success in the 47-73 range as Thompson.

1-13: B.J. Raji, A.J. Hawk (2 good players who have probably been a disappointment for that high a pick)

14-24: Aaron Rodgers, Justin Harrell, Bryan Bulaga (1 superstar, 1 bust, and 1 very good player hampered by injury)

25-46: Jordy Nelson, Clay Matthews, Derek Sherrod, Nick Perry, Datone Jones (1 outstanding player, 1 superstar, 3 recent players who have been hampered by injury)

47-73: Terrence Murphy, Nick Collins, Abdul Hodge, Greg Jennings, Daryn Colledge, Brandon Jackson, Pat Lee, Brian Brohm, Morgan Burnett, Mike Neal, Randall Cobb, Casey Hayward, Jerel Worthy, Eddie Lacy (Three Pro Bowl Players, 2 outstanding players (of which 1 hampered by injury), 1 solid players, 2 players hampered by injury, 2 busts, 1 reserve)

beast (3h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (3h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (13h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (13h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (15h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (16h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (17h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (17h) : Thank you
wpr (17h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (17h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (17h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (17h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (17h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (18h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (18h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (18h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (18h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (19h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
