It's nice to have a left tackle who is as mean as a snake and can run block. Barclay isn't too bad at run blocking either. Now pass protection is another story. But I'd really like to see a better mix of the run next year with our passing game. In 2010, we ran just enough to keep the defenses honest. In 2014, I want to see defensive coordinators shitting their pants because we can do both really well.

David Bakhtiari might be mean as a snake, but he is not a good LT. He's the 64th ranked Tackle of all who have played 25% of the snaps. That is not good. That is not positive. That is bad. That is very bad.

I don't see it on the field and the statistics don't see it either, yet a few of you think Bakhtiari is something special. He is not.

David Bakhtiari
73rd run block
45th pass block
37th screen block
14th penalty
64th overall

Someone who is good? Josh Sitton. It shows in the eye test and the ratings.

Josh Sitton
12th run block
1st pass block
63rd screen block
25th penalty
2nd overall

As for shutting Demarcus Ware down ... he's hurt and most Tackle's this season have shut him down lol Even Jerry Jones called Ware out specifically a week or two ago for his subpar play. “He’s feeling better and we should be able to count on better production from him.” - Jerry Jones

He may develop over the next few years but he has let the team down a few times when the game was on the line.

IIRC Peppers had a pretty big game the last time GB played the Bears. Peppers had not done squat all year long and suddenly came alive in the 2nd half. I realize he lined up in several different positions during the game. That it wasn't solely on Bakhtiari but he struggled.

I would rate Bakhtiari as marginally decent at best as a run blocker, and downright bad as a pass blocker. Most of Lacy and Starks' yards, it seems, have either come up the middle or outside in spite of shoddy blocking. So many times, we see Lacy bottled up in the backfield as a tries to go outside - because the tackle missed his block. If the other team knows a run is coming, we can basically forget it - even with the upgraded RB situation.

I guess the real question is, at the moment is he better than Newhouse?

dfosterf (20-Feb) : Hasn"t Bosa missed more games than he has played in the last 3 years?
Mucky Tundra (19-Feb) : He hasn't been too bad when healthy but I don't feel like I ever heard much about when he is

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser

Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I thought Guests couldnt post?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : And gosh that's gonna be fun to clean up! hahaa
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Oh. Why not just say that then? Geez.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : check the main forum, seems a spam bot is running amok
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : What?
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Is the Packers online game "Packers Predict" now available for 2024? I can't tell
Zero2Cool (17-Feb) : Bengals planning to Franchise Tag Tamaurice Higgins
Zero2Cool (14-Feb) : Packers are hiring Luke Getsy as senior offensive assistant.
