While the rest of the nation seems affixed to the Aaron Rodgers watch, there is another injury concern that needs more attention. Enter Derek Sherrod. The 6-foot-6, 321-pound offensive lineman came to the Packers with a mountain of promise as the 32nd selection in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was supposed to be the next [...]

I love the logic of this article: Sherrod's been out with a horrific injury for the past two years and hasn't played at all yet it's disappointing he can't unseat two guys who have (one of whom plays G normally, a position they tried Sherrod at and bombed).

I like reading the Jersey Al posts because they can be so screwy.

I doubt it’s time to give up on Sherrod just yet, but if he continues to struggle next August and into next season, how many more chances can the Packers give and afford?

how can he be worried about what happens next August? IF Sherrod struggles next year Uncle Teddy will handle it. If he does fine in TC and the season then there is nothing to even think about. So why talk about it now? That is 8 months away.

He then anchored an o-line for Favre and Ahman Green to tear up the league.

Cutting Sherrod at this point would be fucking retarded. Patience boys - get some!

Although the Green Bay Packers traded Flanagan to the Carolina Panthers in August 1998, the trade was nullified because Flanagan did not pass a physical. With the Packers, Flanagan made his professional regular season debut on December 13, 1998, a victory over the Chicago Bears. Flanagan became the starting center in 2001.

As for Sherrod, he hasn't even had an offseason yet as I recall. He was drafted in the strike year, then broke his leg. Goddamn, let him get some work in before we cast aspersions.

He has had some tough breaks (pun intended). Really he is just a little more than a rookie. Not only has he had to deal with the nasty injury, the run blocking has really changed in the last couple years. We are running much less stretch outside zones.
