The move buys the Packers a three-week window for Sherrod to return to practice before they must make a decision to activate him or place him on injured reserve.

Sounds to me like they want to IR him, but they wanna keep him available in case anyone goes down within the next three weeks.

There was probably no chance that Sherrod would be activated prior to Bulaga's injury, but now the O-line is perilously thin.

I expect him to end up on the IR. he really isn't ready. No Cliffy for this team either.
