Micah Hyde could switch to safety

Count Joe Whitt among those who think cornerback Micah Hyde could make a successful transition to safety for the Green Bay Packers.

Why he hasn't yet is beyond me.

Probably the same reason Perry is still on the left side and Lattimore doesn't get playing time.

It would be a longtime coming. He played safety in college. He's a pretty good tackler. I’m guessing the coaches believe size is an issue, but he plays as if he’s 215 or 225.

A lineup of Burnett and Hyde at safety with Shields, Heyward, House, and an early pick (Justin Gilbert) in this year’s draft would have a tremendous impact on the defense.

It's old mr. kiss ass back again (me) just wanting to say that I believe that the coaches are making the best decisions they can based on what they see with their players on the practice field and in games. They will find the best place for Hyde to be for himself and for the team I have no doubt.

I'm surprised CB Joe Whitt is on board... after drafting Hyde the reporters seem to ask questions about him playing Safety and Whitt seemed to be annoyed and/or upset the media was saying he might not be a CB.

Of course he might of just been annoyed he was getting Safety questions and not CB questions, as he's the CB coach, not the S coach.
