We already know who's taking over for Clinton-Dix ... how do you feel about that?

GREEN BAY – Ha Ha Clinton-Dix smiled, and laughed softly.

Leaning on his locker inside Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers’ fifth-year safety looked down the row at Jermaine Whitehead, who had his headphones on and was digging into a piece of salmon.

“He’s our new Micah Hyde,” Clinton-Dix said. “He’s a guy that can do everything.”

It’s high praise from Clinton-Dix, who paired with the versatile Hyde for three seasons. And while the defense and its calls have changed under Mike Pettine in 2018, there’s reason to make the comparison.

Whitehead may not have the ball-hawking numbers that the versatile Hyde put up in Green Bay and now in Buffalo, but Pettine has trusted Whitehead to play a variety of roles in his defense.

I haven't seen enough of him to have a real opinion. We have seen where UDFAs DBs have worked out in the past. There's no reason to believe it can't happen again. As far as ints go, I don't really mind it if he doesn't have a bunch of them. It doesn't really mean he doesn't know how to cover the receiver. So many ints are because of errors not great coverage especially at the safety position where they are playing deep on a double team and the QB over throws his target. Yippie we get the ball. But it's not as if the DB was locked in tight coverage all the way down the field and stepped in front of the receiver and took it away. Not all interceptions are created equal.

We always complain when moving guys along the OL... if we moved Williams or Jackson at CB, I fear that might make CB weaker (plus we need them to pick one spot for Jackson and kepe him there, not keep flipping him around to different spots) and the coaches don't seem to be high on Josh Jones at the moment for what ever reason (though I think he should be the dime LB/S now if Whitehead steps up)... but will be interesting to who who they trust more in the dime LB role, Burks or Josh Jones.

I really don’t know much about him.
INTS are nice, but pass break ups are more important.
