Micah Hyde was cautiously optimistic on draft weekend in April. Then he saw 158 players and 37 defensive backs selected before him.

Stories like this help me breathe a little bit easier regarding the long term cornerback situation. I would love to get Shields back long term, but don't know how realistic this is with the salary cap situation in the future. Tramon Williams is 30 this year and although I am not quite ready to throw him to the wolves it isn't realistic to expect him to play at a high level for too much longer.

I'm pulling for this kid to make it.
I think he's going to be a good one.
In my mind him and Lacey have been the most impressive draft choices followed closely by Bhaktierri (sp).

When Tramon Williams and Casey Hayward are both back, do the Packers place Micah Hyde at Safety?

I would also like to see him take some snaps at safety.[-o<

I think this kid tackles very well, but might not have the pop you'd want in a strong safety. The Packers seem to have a lot of wonderful problems to solve with personnel.

I still think part of the problem at S is that Burnett is a pro bowl SS trying to play FS because he's the best they have. But he's not a natural FS nor does he have the raw speed for it which helped Collins SO SO MUCH.

And then McMillian is a LB want ta be (not a bad thing IMO) in a DBs body and has yet to learn to be patient and learn to be able to cover deep and still has learning to do.

Jennings who's a FS with surprisingly coverage skills but horrible ball skills to the point he can be in the right spot at the right time and still gives up the play. He's been in position enough that at the very least he should have a lot more knock down passes than he has. He's in good coverage, but just doesn't have the insticts to make a play, which in some ways reminds me of Bush as it seems like something I'm not sure you can coach up.
