Week 14

I may be wrong, and often am.

My gut feeling is this game against Atlanta on Sunday will have a dramatic and life changing effect on every player, coach, and member of this storied franchise. Except Ted.

YES.. Except Ted.

Aaron is not playing Sunday...Fine... However If the Pack lose.. I feel heads will roll in the off season.

I can see M.M. coaching Texas next year. Right or wrong, there will be some serious career adjustments including Capers and others.

Jon Gruden? I hope not.

As things sit now, I don't see Dom Capers returning. Mm could go either way - they probably will keep him. The thing to keep in mind - it is not just the staff members that could end up on the wrong side of the door, there are players that should be concerned as well.

This game has absolutely no defining moment implications. This season has been a godsend because we now know what we have in our players and true evaluations can be made on whether or not they should remain Packers. This is even more evident with our coaching staff.

I don't feel that Mike is on the hot seat. If he is, it's because of this weird communication gap, as reference in another thread. Mike and Aaron getting into it on the sideline. Cobb hearing news about his own injury and status from reporters. The defense giving up on the season. All this weird smack talk from Jennings.

If, and that's a big IF, Mike were to get shitcanned it would be more for that kind of shit.

I don't like the way he calls plays, but he does have an accomplished record as a HC.

As for players, my main concern is that they get with the program and show up regularly. I think we have guys with skills, it's just that they need to play when they're on the field. Be in your gap. Know who to cover, and do so.

This could be a defining moment in the opposite direction too. I honestly don't believe the majority of our players are as bad as they have shown these past 5 weeks. I think there has been a big disconnect between the staff and the players. If they were to somehow put it all together, maybe we beat ATL, without Rodgers, then maybe Rodgers is cleared v. DAL, and that might prove an even bigger, greater defining moment, should we win that one.

If this team miraculously starts getting it together, on both sides of the ball, and we make an improbable run, who knows what could happen? They've literally done it before, 4 seasons ago.

It seems far fetched at this point, with the poor showings we've had through 5 weeks of play, but I can see us still winning this division. DET can easily flop two. CHI will struggle to come out of this week with a W. If, somehow, the Packers pull off a good run to end the season 4-0, they would be one of the hottest teams in the NFL going into the playoffs, and they may shock the world again.

We are due for a lot of picks. We just are. If we can get both sides of the ball to get their shit together, along with STs, both players and coaches, maybe we see something special.

Ah, a man can dream, can't he?

What I really like about McCarthy is he seems to have a real integrity to him, and a real passion to Win. The deficiencies on D are really very troubling though. That is probably his greatest issue to tackle and get rectified, one way or another. I do believe Mike's job is safe, as you are saying.

Zero2Cool (23-Jul) : Suppose if locker room is main issue, we sitting pretty
wpr (23-Jul) : I thought so Mucky. In those useless player polls GB always rates high overall. Locker is a part of it.
