This happend just last night. Lance "Buddy" Franklin became the first man to kick 100 goals in a season in 10 years and the just the 28th man to do it in 150 years of AFL Football.
This prompted fans to invade the ground. It was estimated that between 5-8 thousand supporters stormed the field and formed a huddle around Franklin, who was shortly ushered off the field into the change rooms until the ground had cleared. Prior to the match, the AFL had warned patrons that they would receive a $6000 fine for every individual who jumped the fence onto the ground should the 100 goals be kicked; evidently this was not a concern for the thousands who did just that ; an AFL tradition that will live on.
